On this, Trump will need to be judged (and will be) on the outcome. If his stances are negotiation tactics and they work out, I think he could be seen very well in this regard. He was very correct to point out that Europeans were getting a free ride with NATO. We didn't mind that so much pre-COVID because it wasn't that dire to subsidize it and gave us a great bargaining power. However, post-COVID due to insane spending under his and Biden's administrations, we cannot do this at this level. This is a very optimistic take on what we have seen thus far. But it is still very early and he is a real estate developer after all.
