Maybe I’m a fool but no way I’d be paying a damn lawyer a dime to sign up with a reputable university. You negotiate the NIL amount and sign up. Screw the lawyers and get started with your college football career. This isn’t some back door deal, it’s a state-funded university
But the deal isn't with the State University...its with a private organization...Fl Victorious in Florida's case. I would never have my kid sign a contract of that nature without a lawyer looking it over.
But the university is not employing the student. Whatever you’re signing is created by another lawyer. I don’t like lawyers one bit, but they are a necessary evil. I damn sure have mine before I sign something that yours drew up.
Well then, how about a contract with John Ruiz? Surely he’s not going to screw you right? I know y’all are right — it just sickens me that college football has deteriorated this quickly to yet another game run by f**king lawyers
It's always been a game run by lawyers. The only difference now is that the players get to have them too.
Making progress on the Oline! Love it. Seems like we've been trying to build a complete, quality line + depth forever. I hope one day soon we'll actually build to reload mode.
Lawyers and now politicians getting involved too. Not à good combo for college football. That's why I'm not as involved emotionally and financially like I use to be.
I heard that as well UF has done exceptionally well to keep tuition low, which makes Florida Pre-Paid a horrible investment. The ROI on FL PP was less than 1%/year for my kids in school now at FGCU and FL Poly. Both were right at top 10% of their class, but not accepted to UF. Welcome aboard to the new OL, he was a 4* HS recruit!
