Between UCF and UF? Has he visited elsewhere or mentioned others? Maybe chill at home a few days and wait for highest and best offer?
Safe pick because we should be able to out recruit UCF. If he's NFL material, he'll be drafted regardless of his decision. I do not want to believe he would take UCF over UF but it's possible.
It $$$$$$ure i$$$$$$$$ $aying $$$$$$$$$$$omething. But if that's not the only consideration then he's not as smart as I originally thought he was. UCF... LMFAO at that johnny come lately program. Let's see, he can either play in the "bounce-house" jiffy-pop high school football field... or he can play in front of 90,000 plus screaming Gator fans in THE SWAMP... that in some games can be the loudest stadium on plant EARTH.
Fans are so desperate for information that they continue to give guys like this an audience. He throws spaghetti against the wall based on the same info everyone else hears and hopes it sticks so that when it does he's seen as an insider. Total b.s.
Unfortunately, "most" kids nowadays don't care about what you highlighted in blue. Which is another reason why I don't follow CFB much anymore.
Yes, I know. But it's facinating when you look at the fact that He highlights what has become somewhat of this generations phenomena that is that anyone, regardless of social stature or occupation can find a national audience for their voice/message if they say/ talk about what people want to hear. What people have fought for in years past is now at the tips of out thumbs. Crazy to have thought 25 years ago that Social media would create so much power to those who wield it to their advantage.
Hi Rick - While Gator fans understand your point, I would "think" that kids with his pedigree would, as you say, look at the $ first. Secondly, and not to disparage the awesomeness of the Swamp, I would think UF's record of getting kids to the NFL would carry significant weight in the final decision, that and the heightened TV exposure and prestige of playing in the SEC as well. Hopefully we hear soon.
I don't know what are his criteria. Would ucf be able to come close to our NIL? No idea. But the best way to get the most out of UF is have a second school offering. Hope we get him.
Kids too often, but not all, do look for "happy meals" and "duffel bags" for their time in the near future when considering which school to "nest" in.
And to be clear I wasn't giving you a hard time for citing him. Not at all. Just that he jumped the gun as soon as it was rumored he was a possibility because he wanted to be the first to break the news but he was just throwing darts. If he's wrong he will say negotiations fell through or just move on to the next opportunity.
If you think about it, that's not much different than what wiltfong and the rest of those "recruiting experts" on those sites do with the crystal ball "predictions" and such but for some reason we seem to lean on them for their evaluations and insight on those same players knowing damn well they are just throwing spaghetti against the wall as well.
For the most part yes. I don't follow recruiting that much other than what I pickup here. I'm sure they dangle out predictions early on to keep the fans interested but It seems like the wiltfong crystal balls come out closer to the commitments and he seems to be more accurate than not. I can't say because again, I'm not a subscriber to any recruiting pages but this hoopshizz guy has made definitive statements several times now where nothing has happened. Maybe it's the random shock value announcements that bother me with guys like him.
I think they do, but if some team paid them a bunch more money, they would play in front of 9 people rather than 90,000. I think all the recruiting advantages that existed before still exist, but only come into play when the pay for play is relatively equal.
