Your Rights Are Gone When Your Child Is In the Public School System’

The elitist leftist freaks that run the school system have that mentality. It's good we are finally fighting back and taking back control from those freaks.

This sure is a lot of hoopla for a movie commonly recommended for children 5+ being shown to 11 year olds.

How is having a gay character instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity? If I show a movie with a differential equation on a background chalkboard, am I instructing math?

It's all so stupid.

 

that was how it was for me, growing up in Fla. I remember one girl in my class got her first period at school about two weeks before we were scheduled to begin sex ed in 5th grade. I’m sure she wasn’t the first in the class, but she was the first to have it at school where everyone knew that was what was going on.

Well I would hope that they aren't teaching sex ed to K-3rd grade which is all the Parental Rights Bill Covers at the moment

Your post is either a joke or a cry for help. Either way it’s disturbing. You want the control without the responsibility.

 

Taking it back and running off the teachers. What's going to happen in the fall after 5000 teachers have left? Nobody wants to teach in Florida.

 

However you want to put it, if you send your kid to school, they are in someone else's hands and you don't have control over every aspect of what happens in the classroom. Dont like that reality? Homeschool, then you have all the control in the world.

 

Probably be used to as another argument to send tax payer dollars to religious schools.

 

A gay character is teaching sexual education the same way a black character means a film is teaching CRT.

I assume as this is a Disney movie, it’s rated G, so the offensive part to the fundamentalist is that the character exists.

 

Florida is basically giving the most conservative parents in each classroom the power to determine curriculum for all public school students.

 

This is the same person who claimed recently that Asians are inherently more intelligent than Black people. You definitely don't want him or anybody like him controlling what our kids learn.

 

Control freaks gonna control freak, whether it is classrooms, libraries, voting rights, reproductive rights etc...

 

Someone has to be the adult in the room.

Interesting that the elected official and parent who seems most concerned about purported indoctrination signed the permission slip. Perhaps she assumed that she'd have recourse if there were any gay characters in the PG movies. The board member/mother declares this movie destroyed her daughter's innocence. How dramatic! Her daughter is going into middle school. That age group wasn't PG when I was in school before the smart phones and internet. I can only imagine now. Maybe it makes her feel better to think her daughter doesn't know about gay people.

 

Dumb is dumb. This is someone looking for a fight.
I will say I wish MORE parents took more responsibility for their kids. I wish more fed them breakfast and didn’t rely on the school. I wish more were home when the kids got home. I wish more took responsibility to help kids with homework, emotional upheavals, growing pains. I wish more took the time to pack a healthy lunch for their kids. I wish more parented their own kids instead of hoping a teacher or coach did it.
Won’t ever happen. When a parent turns over the raising of their kids to the school system… and far too many do that… then they don’t have a right to complain when it’s not what they want.

 

I'm guessing that was by design. Cant make it a controversy for political gain if you opt your kid out like a normal person with objections.
