Prediction? What is left of our representative democracy goes down in flames as the Republi-ban party sweeps the house and the senate and immediately steps up their gerrymandering and changing of laws to ensure that America plunges back to the dark ages as a single party, single religion theocracy.

Or, when the republicans take back the seats in a decisive manner….it shows that perhaps you are completely out of touch with the country.

Sort of like the democrats did when they made it easier in many states for people to vote without ID's?

Or, that how well that they have gerrymandered in countless states.

I see. We love democracy … until the people vote in a way we don’t like. We love checks and balances … until it’s our team who gets checked.

Yep. One team literally stormed the capital. for hours they inflicted violence on LEO men and women and threatened to kill gov leaders. all because their side lost.

I think everyone willingly admits that. There are onesy-twosey instances. We have never seen a party wide, systematic effort to undermine the election system like we have witnessed with the governors and state legislatures over the past 5-8 years.

You people should really know who and what you are talking to and about before you put fingers to keyboard.

Oh wait, your "team" opposes education, science and knowledge for the majority, so your comments are in line with expectations.

You’ll get no objection from me on your assessment. Glad to see that many of them are now guests of the state and won’t get to vote again. They clearly needed a lesson that championing democratic institutions means accepting the results of elections that you don’t win. That means no rioting, no demonstrating, no whining about the rules after the fact, etc. We accept the results of elections, right?

I don’t have a team in the sense that you mean. But you’re welcome to vote against whatever team you like. Go ahead.

I have already completely admitted that the Dems are now doing it and have done it in the past. If you think that I am implying that their are any Saints and Sinners here, you are wrong. There are Sinners and flat out Evil. It is just a matter of degrees.

Then it seems strange that you put that in your analysis against cons.

I think it will be much higher than 20 seats for the Reps. I predict the number will be about 244 seats for Reps and 191 seats for Dems. About a 53 seat wipeout.

The nature of a democracy generally leads to a 2 party system. Our 2 parties always, always have had emphatic differences and debate on policy. However I anticipate we all agree we’re seeing sharper divisions now than we’ve ever experienced. ie We had a siege on our capital.

My biggest concern is politicians and leaders are just making up obvious lies about reality, promoting conspiracies and still getting elected.

“Untruths and lies are now very powerful. Sometimes, I find it strange to see a blatant untruth and to then see people repeating that untruth as if it’s true. My first reaction is, where the hell did you go to school? What makes you think that that is the truth? Don’t you have a mind? Don’t you have the ability to discern when you’re being defrauded, when you’re being lied to?”

'Our democracy is not going to survive' if U.S. politicians keep failing to call out obvious lies, says former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta

repubs take house and it won’t be close. They also take senate. Not a blowout but comfortable win by 2-4 seats.

Agreed, solid lean pub in the house and should have at least a 2 seat lead in the Senate. Bottom line is the Biden presidency is over.
