No coma just living and watching as the total world population has EXPLODED over the last 100 years. It took the entire history of the world up to 1920 to get to a billion. In the last 100 years it has multiplied times 7.9 to 7.975 billion people that all need a place to sleep, eat, & crap. It's mind boggling that abortion isn't promoted in this day and age. Just kidding, but not really.

I know for a fact that had it been available in 1970 I would not be here. My father had proven to my mother that he was a lazy, do nothing looking for a get rich quick scheme and she already had my 3 year old brother to care for alone. She was the only one that worked, came home and cooked & cleaned & child stuff.
My father went to prison for cocaine smuggling in 75 so my mom was left alone with two kids and I wouldn't have blamed her for a coat hanger if I'm honest. I wouldn't have known or cared because I would never had lived, therefor not knowing what I was or wasn't missing out on in life.
I'm happy I lived but at the same time I know I made my mother's life much harder and poorer. It was her choice to sleep with the big football star though. I just wish she hadn't. Her life was going to be pretty sweet before all of that.

 

My guess is she was pretty glad she kept you.

As parents no amount of sacrifice is too much. Good for your mom regardless. Single parenthood is next to sainthood for those who work hard to be their best.

I don't think that's fair. To me, it's just a matter of whether people are a good fit together - cue Good Will Hunting scene. There is nothing wrong IMO with people wanting to have similar values, lifestyles, and understandings of what they want in and expect of a mate vis a vis traditional roles versus modern ones. Someone once told me that opposites may attract, but that they don't stay together. I thought that was an interesting perspective.

At the same time, it's also true that many men today (even short of the incel and misogynistic extremes) are exhibiting anger, frustration, and IMO insecurity with respect to women that goes beyond politics and seems very unhealthy to me. Many feel entitled to a woman and seem to want to turn back the clock and pout that they can't find someone. I guess women complain about their options as well. Perhaps expectations are too high on both sides.

 

If it actually misogynistic, thats on them. I wont change my position though.

 

I wanted a guy with a nice smile, sense of humor, who held the door for me and waited on me hand and foot (I return the favor by the way) I've been married 39 years.

For guys sex is always a part of the equation fyi.In fact, most long term relationships begin with a guy initially hoping to score but find a girl that slows that roll so to speak. The challenge enhances the desire of the dude to overcome the initial fail only to learn the needs of the girll eventually deepening the attraction. This leads to personal investment of the relationship and thus a committed stance.

Why? Aborting a child that you have no chance to support and will eventually fall to society to support one way or the other seems like a responsible act. Why shouldn't that option be available??

Also, what is different from a fetus perspective between consensual sex vs rape? If you are anti-abortion, shouldn't it be all-or-none?
