Billy's gearing up for 2024 and beyond. It means 2023 will be somewhat painful. But, hopefully that makes the turnaround that much sweeter. Just gotta be patient....
I don’t necessarily thinking it’s freaking out. It’s just that we need guys and 3 weeks from now portal closes. I’d agree w you about mid level performer but in terms of depth losing Ryland Powell and Henderson is concerning.
They clearly aren’t the future and they see they are getting passed up by younger players. Upper class men don’t want to sit on any team.
Thought he had great straight away speed, but no so much wiggle and route running. Looking forward to see what the younger guys can do.
Powell maybe more than Henderson. Dude we know this isn’t going to be a great season - especially early on. I’ll agree with all the doubters if we don’t see any improvement from the newer guys as the season progresses
I still won't. These youngsters, many just out of high school, have to grow-up and add muscle/strength and learn the ropes while playing an SEC gauntlet. They won't get the luxury of having upperclassmen ahead of them and coming back next year or the year after when they're more physically and mentally "ready." If they have trouble all year it can be expected . . . or not if they grow-up fast and gel fast. They not only have to learn the ropes but learn to play as a team, again, while playing an SEC gauntlet this year.
Maybe the nature of the portal, but don't see how continuing to lose veteran players is a positive as some imply.
It depends on who the player is and how much if any contribution he's made. But on a side note, if a player decides to remove himself from competing with younger talent, for whatever reason, he may well be wise in doing so.
Juniors and seniors won’t be here when this rebuild Is done. Might as well get in with it. I wished we played AR the previous year. He could’ve had two full years. He is about to get paid though so maybe it was better that way.
