NBC reverses decision to hire Ronna McDaniel after on-air backlash Amid a chorus of on-air protest from some of the network’s biggest stars, NBC announced Tuesday night that former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel will no longer be joining the network as a paid contributor. The announcement came in a memo from NBCUniversal News Group Chairman Cesar Conde, who said he had listened to “the legitimate concerns” of many network employees. “No organization, particularly a newsroom, can succeed unless it is cohesive and aligned,” he wrote. “Over the last few days, it has become clear that this appointment undermines that goal.” Conde also apologized to employees “who felt we let them down” and took “full responsibility” for the hiring. Seems that legacy media took action to prevent becoming a joke by hiring someone responsible for pushing lies about the last election. It was a poor decision in the first place, but good for them to take swift action to correct their mistake.
She's about as Trump friendly as Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney, so I don't really understand the point of canceling her.
I don’t recall Kinzinger or Cheney lying on behalf of Trump. Is McDaniel trying to go back to being a “normie” now or something? Because as RNC chair she was definitely a participant in spreading Trumps deranged bs. NBC employs Michael Steele and hosts other Republican figures, so it’s not like that’s the issue.
She did far more than go around and spread the bullshit lie that the election was stolen. She participated with Trump in a phone call with Michigan’s GOP canvassers urging them to NOT certify the election. Now she’s just flip flopping to get a job because Trump nepotized her into unemployment. When it mattered for the country, she failed miserably. Michigan recording further reveals Trump's efforts to overturn 2020 election
That became the case after Trump had her canned as chair of the RNC. When she was the chair ironically original selected by Trump she was all in on election denial and the Michigan' fake elector scheme and even held a press conference with Sidney Powell. Considering they are in the business of anticipating events and outcomes, I’m not sure this is sufficient cause for the hire-fire.
They should not have hired her... the only recourse was to unhire her. My bet is they thought they'd get credit for looking at both sides, but when the other side is basically a criminal enterprise its a bad idea.
