I never suggested forfeiting that we forfeiting the season. Thus you suggestion in that I was advocating is totally wrong. Nor was I suggesting getting Mertz in getting a 3rd time. Oh, you can advocate that Napier puts in plays that fits Lagway's tatlents. However, Lagway will still have the same O-line blocking for him that was blocking for Mertz. In this scenario, it is very possible that all two or more Gator QB's will get more than just dinged up before the season is over. The Miami game video and the future game videos will be going to the Gator's opponents. They will see the the ugly flaws in both the Offense and Defense. One of the main flaws will be an O-line cannot pass and run block. At this point the offensive scheme does not matter. A team without good blocking is a team that will lose. We are in for a rough ride. Do not get mad at me for stating the obvious. Get mad at Napier. He created this mess.
Im to the point i would be ok losing a shootout where both teams score high 40s.. Cant stand being lifeless.
I'm not mad at you. I'm just pointing out that your points are "duh." But let me ask you, should we TRY TO DO THINGS or just lay down and cry? You didn't want to play DJ because you think any QB is going to get hurt. There are ways to deal with that. But your analysis ends there. Even if you assume we arent going to win another game, we need someone to play QB. I know where you are on that question. So stop responding to my posts. After all this is a discussion forum. The discussion doesn't end because we are in for a hard time. Edit: and as SOS said today, we've got to start doing things differently.
What makes you think the outcome with be different or is your position that we just need to try something/anything else?
So now we resort to insults. You are now slidding down that slick sloop. I never sugested that Lagway not play nor that we lay down and cry. I pointed out that Napier's program has put the Gator progam in a real bad spot. I am suggesting that Napier limit Lagways exposure to injuries. Lagway got away with a lot in high school. Some of what he did there will be snuffed out and get him creamed in the talent level he is now playing against. Also, I am not sure if Napier even knows how to coach a player like Lagway. Please note he has his own Offensive scheme that really runs counter to what Lagway does, and what we expected. I believe that we will win some games against team lesser talented teams. At the same time Napier and staff needs to make sure that any Gator QB is still able to walk off the field on his own after the seiries of downs or a touch down. The Fricking Offensive Line play has to improve. If you have a problem with my response to your posts, I suggest that you take it up with the moderators. By the way, have you looked at the video of Mertz getting his concussion? I strongly suggest that you do. The two Gator linemen (right guard, and left tackle) barely had any physical contact with Miami Defenders. Basically it was two wiff blocks.
Oh geez, If you think that's an insult. I apologize. You keep saying the same thing over and over again about our offensive line. I don't disagree. I get it. I'm sure all Florida fans get it in fact I'd bet anybody who's watched the Florida Gators in the past 2 years gets it. You are worried about Lagway getting hurt. He's a player on this team. He is a weapon. He holds the ball for the least amount of time and makes the quickest reads. Any quarterback behind this line may well get hurt. For the sake of the team, we have to do something different. We can't just keep trotting Mertz out there. We have the luxury of having a player like DJ on the team. In my opinion we don't have the luxury of sitting him. We will just have to disagree on this point. Unless you would like to explain once again how bad our offensive line is and how a quarterback is going to get hurt.
