I will not defend Napier, but AR left for the NFL. That was his plan all along even if we went 15-0 in 2022.

Jesse said Miami kept most of their first team on defense in the game in the 4th, but I'm not so sure. I also think we will play better defenses than Miami this year. With our Great Wall, I'm not sure any QB could elevate the offense right now...

Don’t worry. When it comes to any type of multiple QB situation, we’ve always handled all of them masterfully in the post-Spurrier era.

We need to go 6-6 to have a chance of having a good recruiting class.

5-2 going into the Georgia game and steal a win from one of our remaining 5 games.

The chances of that died yesterday. It wasn’t that we lost; it’s how we looked doing it. Third season amd Napier is still clueless.

As in save Billy's job? No. If Lagway balls out and we pull off a miracle of a season, that would only suggest to me that Lagway is a talent on the level of Jameis Winston/Cam Newton/Joe Burrow/Will Grier as in, such a large talent that they can almost single handedly make a team a national title contender and a bad coach look good.

true, but would help if we could keep them off the field.

Mertz seems like great kid. Loved the pregame huddle footage getting fired up, but he’s not good enough. Hope he gets better quickly, but DJ needs to play.

Shit (and sorry for cursing mods), if Mertz had a pocket like Ward had, he would have completed all of his passes. The offensive line didn't show any improvement from the past 3 years and I don't care if we pulled the 3 best players from the portal, they can't do anything if the line can't block. There was just 2 or 3 times where the line showed great improvement, but there were 25 or so plays where they looked as inept as ever. I've said this for 30 years, great offenses start in the trenches. We should have tossed $200M in NIL money to the best linemen in the portal. Instead, we get the rejects. I've heard it from my buds who tell me we didn't get a good lineman, because they got rid of him from his old team.

It was evident in the first quarter Mertz didn't have his A game. Napier should have put DJ in then for a couple of series. Let him get his feet wet.

This falls under situational awareness and adjustments, of which Napier is incapable.

Don't forget to mix in a few screens there too. Horizontal passing game has always been successful in college football!

It is not so much at who is the QB.
Any QB will still have the poor blocking, and crappy offensive game plan.

Yea I think the NIL amount we allocated for OL needs to be increased. Also, I think our OL coaches think they can develop raw talent, but it hasn’t shown up yet.

zone defensive backs, playing Ike a prevent defense. Hardly any blitzes with six men to put pressure on the QB. 3 man lines suck, wear out dl and have to get pressure against five or six blockers. Scared money or defensive scheme.
Offensive, off left tackle runs with a set lineup, even Miami would know it and our short behind the line passing and the end around. totally telegraphed to defensive coordinators.
Not one over the middle pass it seemed till DJ hit one. Miami had novel approach on defense, 6 and seven men on the LOS and getting pressure with it. Remember we only use three or four rushing. Then late in the game five. Never could get pressure due to six or seven blockers we had to fight through. Did we do anything different than last year, absolutely not. This is coaching 101.
Absolute embarrassment no matter how good Miami is. We should have parted last year or gotten a new OC.
Of course not, we are Florida, we do it the right way.
Someone please bring back the excitement of winning Gator football.

No chance. Billy is the most player loyal coach ever. He's got plenty of better players on the bench. Incredibly, I think he's more stubborn than Mullen.

and this is what no one is realizing. If Lagway balls out that’s going to be even more reason for Napier to feel as though he should still remain OC (should he make it to 2025). HE IS NOT AN OC.

Everything Lagway did good yesterday was a result of his talent level being better than the playcall. Go back and watch the route tree the WR’s had on that run he had that got us inside the 10; the WR’s got NO help from the playcall. Let’s say Lagway HAD a clean pocket, no one was schemed to get open or/and pressure the defense.

    Look at the routes smh
