    .

Based on this idiotic logic by definition everything is transitory. You can semantics away at transitory as most would assume that means temporary but those increase in goods that are(told you so transitory) are now permanently locked in. The phoney conflating use sounds great in your bubble but its effects are crushing those you claim to espouse. But hey. You said it was transitory so your desperate desire to be right in spite of the costs to real people is inspiring. Keep on rocking CG.

    Thanks. Very interesting.
Not owning but renting a home? Who owns the home?

It wasn’t their words, it was a random Dutch politician trying to start a conversation on technology innovation and shared services as companies like Uber were rising.

I said I agree it was dumb to add, but don’t think it was sinister. But if people want to read into it, they can. I would just say that we are more than halfway to 2030 from when that happened and nothing has fundamentally changed, other than more big money in housing, but that is largely overstated as well. They own less than 1 percent of homes.

That's one way of looking at things, even if it ignores so much.

First I don’t think this is new, I’ve seen conservatives take this before and misconstrue it.

Second, other than you won’t own anything (which just means more people will rent) what other stuff is “creepy”

Some people really enjoy being lied to. Some really enjoy deluding themselves.

This is ignorant. They court politicians and try to get them on board with their agenda. They don’t have direct power, but they wield influence. John Kerry a member of Biden’s cabinet has been going to Davos for the annual meeting for years. He went to this year’s annual meeting which just ended yesterday.

John Kerry has heated exchange at WEF over size of his carbon footprint

Has your ability to own anything been impacted?

Yes, the tripling of interest rates under the Biden administration has affected the ability of the average American to own things. If he’s on board with the Davos agenda, then he probably does not care. He probably welcomes the higher interest rates as accomplishing the Davos agenda.

I always enjoy hearing misconstrue, conspiracy, etc when all you do is quote or play videos of people using their own words. Yes it’s creepy that these people at Davos truly believe they know what’s best for me. It’s why I followed it up with this quote.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals

Nowhere in this wall of text did you address what was so creepy.

Talk about crazy mashups. You post a Tik Tok (very current man) but then it links to a story about taco prices 12 years ago like an old “get off my lawn” guy. You’re an enigma wrapped in mystery.

incrementalism. Starts with light bulbs, lawn mowers and . Just like the first income tax was only supposed to affect the top 3%.

Lincoln signed The Revenue Act of 1861 on August 5, 1861, and it taxed imports, provided for a direct land tax, and imposed a tax of 3 percent on individual incomes over $800 (which, in current dollars, is about $18,000). The bill fell far short of its goals. There wasn’t an effective way to collect the taxes, and the 3 percent income tax only applied, ironically, to 3 percent of the population in the north.

Call it what you wish. A futurist prognosticating about where they think the world will be in a flying car or exploring space sort of thing can be interesting and mind opening. A bunch of elitists colluding to decide what is best for others and that I will like my awarded lot bestowed upon me from up high is just creepy stuff to me. But that’s JMHO

Using your logic a mere 12 years and 300% is transitory. Just following your lead of arbitrary application of timelines in relation to inflation.

And somehow we all manage to own things. More things than people have ever owned before

Did you even watch the video (which is many years old BTW).

You seem to really want to buy into the narrative of elites telling you what to do against your will. That narrative apparently is very important to you.
