A bit disappointing to me as I was hoping for a Brazil-Argentina semi and find Croatia’s brand of football boring. But credit to them, they are excellent at what they do. But this is on Brazil, they fell asleep on the wheel after going up. Allowing that wide open shot after being up 1 is inexcusable.

Brazil is the NY Yankees of soccer. Easy to root against

 

I suppose people like an underdog, but they actually play entertaining soccer and try to do things, like score goals. I like to see that rewarded more than trying to play for penalties.

 

And as it stands, UF has won a natty more recently than Brazil has won a World Cup

 

What a game between Argentina and Dutch. Great set piece by the Dutch to tie it up. Argentina, like Brazil, again proving the futility of playing prevent defense. On to extra time!

Penalty kicks are an awful way to end a soccer match. They are also incredible drama and highly entertaining.

Wow, one of the leading voices in US Soccer. Hard to describe his role outside of the American soccer community. Journalist, activist, promoter of soccer, all at once.

Once talked about running for head of FIFA to clean it up. Ran into issues because he wore a rainbow shirt to a venue and reported about the migrant workers. His brother is saying that he was killed, but no evidence yet, it should be noted.
