Men appear to be getting a much tougher match from FSU, but kind of hard to tell since the live stats have been broken for like 2 years.

Can't Scott afford to send the IT guy out to the Ring?

Women benefited from FSU forfeiting one doubles spot and one singles spot....but they played decently other than Kessler who has not been able to get it going yet this season. She finished last year as a legit top player in the country, but she has been a shell of that thus far.

Men lose the doubles point, given the expected improvement in tht area they have been disappointing. Shelbayh and Vale cant seem to get going even though both are quality players.
Mixed up the bottom of the lineup today, Shelbayh stepped in at #6 with Bonetto at 5.
Riffice, Vale and Shelton all struggled at points in their matches. None have been quite clicking thus far this season. But a quality win, probably without playing their best

Yes glad to see them hang tough like that. Hopefully they will get it going. Hate it for them that they are struggling, but this year is going to be different as the hunted rather than hunter.

Yes...and "struggling" in this case is a bit misleading. They are still crazy good, we are just setting an incredibly high bar because we know what they are capable of

FSU has 7 roster players, but they have played with either 4 or 5 every match thus far. Been able to win all matches until UF. They list the issue as "player availability", don't know if that is injury, covid, eligibility...or something else. Weird, but hard to tell how good they might be. The missing players don't appear to be their top players, but still better than forfeiting multiple spots every match.
We see them again here shortly, will be interesting to see if they are back to full strength.

Men will also face FSU here in Orlando. Wondering if UF went with the freshmen in this last match and will give them a different look next time with Goodger and Siimar.

Continue to prove they are better, but also not really elite. Zein loses at 3, Spee loses at 6, and Shelton was down in her third set
I was hoping this was a top 8 team, seems to be somewhere in that 10-16 range at the moment

Shelton is the key. If she gets it together and becomes a consistent winner they could be top 10.

She was on serve in the third so they had some leeway and ODU was ranked.

right now I’ll just take the improvement.

Early results from Shelton and Zein (and even Kessler) have been spotty at best. All need to sharpen up, lot of teams in th next month will be capable of beating them....ITA next week, UGA,FSU, Baylor, TAMU. Unlikely they can win at ITA or vs UGA, so those other matches become important....probably battling TAMU for 2nd in the conference

Men still not clicking in doubles, but singles play has picked up.
Siimar hasn't played doubles or singles since the UCF match....not sure if there is a health issue there or something else. Was a lineup regular first several matches.

Women probably played their best match. FSU had a full roster and didn't forfeit any matches this time. Doubles remian improved. Kessler still not playing to level she is capable, takes another loss. Zein was also on the edge of losing at #3, she also hasn't been as good as last year.

Kessler did not play any ITA college tournaments in the fall. I don't know if she played any pro satellite or ITF lower level tournaments instead? Or if she was dealing with an injury. She's no longer ranked in the latest NCAA Div 1 poll.

I know she played (and was somewhat successful) in multiple pro events in the fall. I know she advanced thru qualifying and made the finals of one event
