"I was trying to get over, but as soon as I tried to get over, the man didn't want to let me over. So he tried to run me off the road. So I still tried to get in front of him so I could get away," Ivory said. On Saturday, Ivory says she was heading into the city from the south suburbs at 1:50 p.m. when the gunfire rang out. Her car was shot up — five bullets struck the back and one hit the side. Woman speaks out after being shot 6 times on Chicago expressway, gunman not charged
Shooter waited at the scene for police and told them his side of the story, will be interesting to hear what that was
From the linked story it sounds like he (the shooter) thought that she was trying to cut in front of him. Even so that doesn't justify the use of deadly force on his part.
No kidding. Commuting to downtown Orlando from Seminole County I would need to reload if this was allowed. J/K folks - ease up, please.
The article says they were both concealed carry. She goes out of her way to say she never fired her gun, but would bet he claims she pulled it on him. Which is why he is currently free. Just more gun insanity. A gunfight over a traffic disagreement. It’s a sad world we live in right now.
Yeah, that sounds like a reasonable explanation. I wonder how much “who drew first?” plays into the cop’s decision… like city gator said above, Wild West rules… I bet they both say the other person flashed their gun first….
More emotional and wussified culture on display. Angry? Don't get a grip of your emotions just pull out your gun. Get in a fight? Pull out your gun. Feel threatened in any way? Pull out your gun.
Not sure how much weight to give the victims account, but she says after she cut him off, he pulled up next to her, called her a racist name, then Pulled back behind her and started shooting. The victim’s family says she did have a gun but her gun was found still in its holster…. “Family said a detective told them the man expressed that he feared for his life and was released without charges. Ivory’s sister, Kimberly, said she did have a concealed carry permit, but doesn’t believe she ever touched her weapon. “Her weapon was not drawn, was not shot either,” Kimberly Ivory said. “It was in a holster on safety.”” https://wgntv.com/news/family-of-su...t-road-rage-expressway-shooting-want-charges/
According to the story linked above, that’s what happened. The cops let the shooter go because he said he was scared for his life….
Here's what I find strange - the rounds entered from the passenger side of the car. Given the woman's statement I assume she is moving from the left lane to right and crowding the guy out. He wouldn't give an inch and neither would she. If she exchanged words with him I would imagine at some point they were side by side. So the question in my mind is who tried to run who off of the road. The other thing we don't know is how fast were they traveling. My advice - if someone isn't going to let you in get behind them. If you miss your exit there's another just down the road. "I was trying to get over, but as soon as I tried to get over, the man didn't want to let me over. So he tried to run me off the road.
