With a POTUS-elect who Regularly Lies, why not a SecDef too ?

    Just absurd. We're likely going to have a SecDef who publicly tells lies to the American public. With a POTUS-elect who regularly lies, why not a SecDef too ?

    It seems absurd, but this is the America appx half our electorate wants. Good game, America. Lie away!!

    President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth, justified the January 6, 2021, US Capitol attack and spread baseless conspiracy theories claiming the initial break-in was a false flag operation carried out by leftist groups disguised as Trump supporters.

    In comments made immediately after the riot and in the days and weeks leading up to it, Hegseth also amplified false claims that the 2020 election was stolen, a narrative that fueled the violence at the Capitol that day.

    Four days after the Capitol riot, Hegseth appeared on a podcast hosted by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich called “Newt’s World.” Hegseth, who was then a Fox News host and prominent conservative media figure, downplayed the violence, defended the rioters’ motivations, and criticized the media for rejecting baseless claims of a stolen election.

    He also seized on debunked reports claiming that the riot was instigated by the leftist group known as Antifa. Hegseth alleged that he had seen evidence firsthand that Antifa members disguised themselves as Trump supporters at the riot.

    Although the current POTUS sleeps 20+ hrs a day his puppet masters have been lying to us for the past 4 years, so we should be used to it.

    Biden lies too. Nobody cares if politicians lie. They’ve been doing that for way before Trump

    Amazing how he can run a crime family while sleeping 20 hours a day. Old Joe must be a truly talented person. As far as lying is concerned that's one area in which Joe Biden is not remotely close to Donald Trump.

    When you accuse the next POTUS of something the current POTUS who you support does on a regular basis it is not a whataboutism. It is just pointing out how stupid your statement was.

    Maybe it's just me and I'm not defending Biden but there is a difference between a politician who lies about his background telling a story about an event that he falsely claimed occurred 50 years ago or who embellishes the events surrounding the death of a relative who was a casualty of World War II and another politician who knowingly perpetuates a false story about recent immigrants with legal status (Haitians eating pets) or who knowingly lies about crime statistics, or knowingly lied about the place of birth and indirectly eligibility of a sitting president or who denied the documented reality of Russian interference in the 2016 election. By the way although Biden exaggerated his standing in his law school class he never claimed that he graduated at the top of the class and I would also add that he never had his attorney threaten every school that he attended with litigation if they released his transcripts.
