Willy Korn for OC

If he can lay half a hundred on the Korn Dogs in Baton Rouge next year, then I don't care.

 

He's in his 30s so it's a perfect fit.

 

I have been seeing more noise about this NOT happening. It actually makes since to hire him, but where does he fit on the staff?

 

Sometimes for a couple of days.

 

I doubt we hire an OC. The glaring problem on this team is the defense. BN not going to give up play calling, especially with how well he got Mertz to perform this season. Only big change he will make will be on DEFENSE. ...........However..... I would like Korn on the staff. If we drop one of the OL coaches, and make Korn the OC and he and Napier can collude on playcalling. I can get down with that.

 

Yes I left the other part for the rest of you guys to split amongst yourselves. I'd say you've taken enough but that's not my business.

 

I think it might take half a hundred if our defense is markedly better.

Florida just plans to stop paying one of the OL coaches and let it work itself out…

If it's true why wait to announce it? He can finish his bowl game and still be named OC.

 

That’s a valid point. He has been with Chadwell for a extended period of time both as a coach and a player, perhaps it’s a matter of personal respect, or there might be contractual obligations… like you however, if it’s true I don’t quite understand keeping it a secret.

 

Not necessarily a secret just a matter of timing. We're getting all our offensive recruits. And any we might want to add would be told.

 

Until further notice, it is entirely plausible that our "secret" is merely conviction by Lagway and the future and they are buying into it. But we shall see.


I seriously don't think this thread will make it to 136 pages. But that is just me...

 

Hearing Korn is a lock. Along with Tulane’s Gerald Chatman being announced. If so, it's good news.
But, of course, who really knows these days.

 

Probably at least 2-3 more wins. Maybe more. The defense was pretty weak.

When the offense and defense grow up we could looking at 10+ wins a year or more. We just have to get older, more depth and better at our reps.

I am excited about Willy coming. It should free Napier to take special teams. That should be the final piece and then you bake the pie for a couple of years and start playing for championships!
