But you're going off of the thought that it's "This year's roster vs the UGA, Bama and Texas of last year." How are those teams going to fair this year? They all lost important pieces to their previous success and if I was betting on ot I would say they would be alright but Bama will be much more different than people believe, and Texas lost a lot of their defense from last year, their offense in the regular season was surprisingly pedestrian scoring only 2 more TDs than UFs offense. Their defense is what really separated their success from our lack of success.
Triumph? Questionable. Hang with? Hopeful. Not getting blown out in a hellstorm in Austin would be appreciated.
Whine and denigrate? I just disagreed that UM fans being restless after 4 seasons of Harbaugh should be considered impatient and the comparison in general. Didn't piss on anyone either, just being sarcastic with your virtue signaling statement of brass ball patience.
Agree, hence why I don't give the comparison any credence. As I have said before every situation is unique.
Didn't say a word about the recruit. I will now. I love his deep touch more than anything on the highlights. The tidbit about him being on varsity in 8th grade (I think it was) is crazy. Curious to see if we whiff on the 25 QB's if he could and would potentially reclassify with the assumption he redshirts under Lagway, would be a good setup to get him in the system learning and training, and making NIL for himself too.
It’s gonna be tricky for Billy & Co to manage this much talent and keep them committed. You had me scared there for a minute with your “I love his deep touch…” line. NTTAWWT
In my mind, every other game is a tossup and it will be hard just to win half the games that aren’t a forgone conclusion. I just want to see us play well in our games. I hope we win by winning or losing this year to me is not as important as looking competent, I could see being six and six and being happy with the season
I expect all three of those schools to be 10 and two at the worst and a very big challenge for us. I’m hoping we are at least tossup against Texas A&M, Tennessee, FSU and the ilk
I’m hoping for a better team on the field for sure. Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Miami, FSU,… All those teams could be really good or really average
I'm often over the top having fun. Now is the season to be optimistic. If not now, when? But for sure keep your negative waves off of Griffin.
I could be wrong, but this may be the year we want to play the gumps. New coach, new system, and a lot of their players transferred out. I don't think they will be the same team.
I am still very skeptical that any team, after playing probably 3 ranked teams out of 7 with 2 of the 7 being in state rivals and 3 others having former players and coaches of ours or being traditional rivals and then play 5 ranked teams without a bye, can be physically and emotionally able to perform at 100% in the last 3 or so games and have enough depth. I think we are at least one very solid recruiting class away from having that depth. I want some winning, but Urbs would have trouble with this schedule. MSU almost took him out of the national championship game.
I see Griffin has dropped some 49 spots, in one of the ratings after he committed. I not convinced Griffin is all that. Did anyone watch him in the spring game against a lakeland defense that is in a rebuild mode? Jesuit got beat 37-3 and Jesuit didnt put the 3 on the board until Lakeland had begun to put the second teamers in deep into the second half of the game. His resume in as far HS to me is uninspiring, particularly when he's face better competition. Im still watching and feel another gator legacy player to be on the rise by 2026 and he just happens to be right under Billy's nose in Gainesville. To me he has faced much better competition and responded much better from a playig stand point than Griffin as well!
