Pam Bondi Announces Lawsuit Against New York Over Immigration—'You're Next'


On Wednesday, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Department of Justice has filed a civil lawsuit against New York Governor Kathy Hochul and state Attorney General Letitia James, both Democrats, for allegedly failing to enforce federal immigration laws.

Bondi said the lawsuit was also filed against Mark Schroeder, New York's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) commissioner and the state of New York. The civil suit was reportedly filed in Albany County federal court.

"This is a new DOJ. We are taking steps to protect American citizens. As you know, we sued Illinois, and New York didn't listen...you're next," Bondi said at her first press conference as attorney general.

If I recall when Democratic politicians held similar press conferences calling for more stringent gun laws and introduced the parents of children killed in school shootings conservatives labeled them political stunts and even went so far as to accuse the politicians of exploiting victims of tragedies. While every case cited by Bondi is indeed a tragedy and shouldn't be dismissed the reality is that American citizens are more likely to commit murders than are undocumented immigrants and are more much more likely to be victims of crimes committed by their fellow Americans that by illegal aliens.
