The problem was that it was the NCAA themselves that opened Pandora's box by allowing "temporary" unlimited transfers during the 2020 Pandemic/social justice equity era. When they tried to close it up they got sued, an injunction was placed and the NCAA folded like a cheap suit. The concept of eligibility is now just a construct of what the courts will allow and I'll bet that since big $$ are now involved the concept of 4 years of playing eligibility will soon be under attack as well. Particularly when the NCAA has waffled back and forth on certain players getting more and more eligibility for injury issues. How long has the Utah QB been in College Football? 9 years next year or something similarly ridiculous.
One who works for a corporation for decades to earn a pension is different from a kid who has one year of eligibility left to maximize income before a very improbable nfl career, Perhaps if schools said “stay 4 years and you get a payout” or make nil back weighted? As an aside, many fans complain about UF academic requirements harming football. That strongly indicts the “they get an education” argument. We all know most football players wouldn’t be at uf but for football so valuing them as athletes far more than scholars is the bed schools/conferences made. Lot less fun than what cfb was many decades ago but the soul of the sport was sold out well before the veneer was ripped off.
Correct...and you are to be compensated in some way if you sign a non-compete in your employment contract. Some employees don't even realize that they can negotiate the non-compete and just sign the employment agreement.
Ship has sailed on players sitting out a year if they transfer and it ain't coming back. Never seemed fair to me anyway, given that millionaire coaches don't have to sit out.

Agreed. It sucks, but it's not all that bad, assuming we pick up some studs similar to what we have done recently. Let's hope there aren't any more big names leaving...
I'm going to go with Nothing, that originally was "something"... and then, shortly after, people will start telling Brandon Spikes to stop Jinxing us!
Pretty much any tweet these two have done like this recently pertains to the defense (such as Spikes tweeting on national signing day morning- people thought it was about Dallas Wilson but it pertained to Heyward).
