The position is super crowded and attrition is coming one way or the other. Theres alot of talent there and decisions have to be made. He may be the least talented of the top few but still possibly had the biggest affect on the attitude of our defense. He was definitely a leader and planted the flag. Seeing Cam talk about him says alot about how he fits in the lockeroom. I dont like it but maybe I understand.
I mean, we have a 5* sopmore that wants his snaps along with Searcy and one more name that is alluding my feeble mind. We just took two more talented edges that are going to want to get their feet wet. Theres only so many snaps but he was important this year. One of my favorite players..... attitude.
We'll know shortly if true but after the pyburn news I don't consider anyone a lock anymore. Not that he's a huge loss of production but he held his edge and it hurts the momentum we have with banks returning. Just an unsustainable structure of today's college football. Something has to change.
Everyone is looking for a pay day, I mean our defense played better at the end of the season but it’s not like we are talking about all world beaters either. The game has turned into a collection of mercenaries.
For sure. There are no rules. Can you imagine the NFL, NBA, or MLB tolerating a system where players under contract could jump to another team any time they wanted for more money? It would never happen. Something has to be done.
Lots of talk in recent years about fan apathy due to several things including our poor product, poor recruiting, the same power players stacking talent etc but fans have stuck around probably because of fan passion and part curiosity to see how things shake out. I'll say this, if this becomes the norm that every single year has to be renegotiated then ill have no problem tuning out. Sports are already a bit silly. We let kids dictate our school pride and happiness. At least the players generally carried their pride for their school into life after college so there was at least SOME connection. This is just lame now.
Coach Chaos been doing some tampering over at A&M. I’m sure they’re offering him a BAG but he’s not worth a bidding war. I’m ready for LJ to get that spot anyways.
Pyburn blew up on instagram or twitter. Not good. ET says threads were merged, but don't see it. $$$$ I am sure.
He feels under-appreciated by the staff, it would seem, based on his highly dramatic Taylor-Swift-esque IG screed that I saw. Surprised.
Fan apathy here is a myth Antny. We have repeatedly sold out a 90,000 seat stadium, even during our 3 and a half year downturn. The fans are loud and proud most weeks. Fans here definitely want to win, but, they are not apathetic as a whole. All you have to do to see real fan apathy is attend an fsu home game on a down year.
I think he’s making a mistake if he’s taking the A&M money. Dude is a lifelong Gator and bleeds Orange and Blue. Need to show some loyalty and stick it out. One day, you may want to show your kids your alma mater.
