Couldn't happen to a more arrogant fan base without the accomplishments in modern day. Cal has always done less with more consistently.
i felt badly for Oscar. I really like that kid.., except when he plays us. but really- Cal can’t lose a game like that, not when you have an interior player like Oscar.
Of course, I am not referring to you. You have always been level headed and a realistic fan. Some of your brethren.... not so much.
I remember when I was upset that Cal took that job because he would won a million titles. Now I hope they keep him.
i honestly think Cal may leave. This team was built for a title, and blew it. I think he may see that another one is not in the cards.
Go read the UK boards. Virtually everyone is calling for Cal to be fired, saying he’s a horrible coach. They are insulting him almost unanimously. Anyone defending him is having their intelligence insulted too. The guy won a national title there. He’s won SEC championships. And they want him fired on the tarmac like Lane Kiffin was at USC. And somehow you see this as a time to point the finger at Gator fans, whose criticism of a less successful coach was nonetheless far less vitriolic?
Cal is a salesman. He gets basketball but his real skill is selling ice to Eskimos. And to me, his walking away is tantamount to saying he has some integrity over the need for manipulation and staying on top. I don't think he is ready to do that anytime soon. But we shall see.
They should have listened to me 7 years ago when I stated on here he would never win another title. I was WAY out in front of this!!
I was right there with you... I always felt he is just an average X and O coach if not below. Does recruit well, but recruits the rankings and not players skills... he has had deficiencies each year, PG, shooting, inside depth, defense, multi year players, etc. It is time to republish my Kentucky yearly basketball calendar....
i guess all you Kentucky fans are in shock losing to St. Peter, join us as we we are in the same boat with White voluntarily leaving. As the song goes “here we go again”! We know upsets, with our former coach, somehow three or four games a year would be head scratchers.
