Agree...everyone must get better if we are going win 7-8 games.

Princely was 2nd Team All-SEC, Coaches and AP.
    Crawshaw was 2nd Team AP.

Those were our only two All-SEC players in 2023 (UGA had 10 players). Maybe someone got an honorable mention?

However, we had four players on the All-SEC Freshman team.
Wilson III, Searcy, Collins and Castell.

We need 3-4 players on the All-SEC 1st or 2nd team if we are going to win more games (six) with our schedule...and one of them cannot be our punter.

IMO, these players are critical to our 2024 success and we will struggle without them.
    Mertz
    Wilson III
    Shemar James
    Jason Marshall

If we get one OL to play at an All-SEC level, and the rest of the OL to play better, we could see seven wins.

I'm predicting 7-8 wins due to the depth on the OL and DL...and I believe a lot of players are going to be noticeably better.

I think our secondary is the weakest link, therefore, no lead will ever be safe.

The secondary has been reported on several podcasts and recruiting sites as one of the most improved units, besides the OL. Some of that is based upon the TP, but, to a large degree, how well they are playing; including improved tackling!

    BTW, Mertz may have an
interesting year--maybe positive, maybe negative, maybe some of both. BN has told Mertz he wants him to take calculated risks and not just be a game manager. That could mean he will make bigger plays and/or throw more interceptions! We will see!

The LB unit is Intriguing, as there are quite a few players out. Aaron Chiles comes in June and he has a veteran body. Some have projected him as competing for playing time. Stephen Harris says he's watched film on Chiles and he is really impressed with his quickness and nastiness! Can Jaden Robinson turn heads? I trust Ron Roberts on figuring out who the backups will be to James and Howard.

Nick Marcinko just wrote an article stating the secondary will be the strength of the defense. I will trust the guys who get to watch practice. I'm basing my opinion on what I saw last year. I feel like we lack a killer and a leader in the secondary.

It's yet to be seen how deep Mertz can pass, but we certainly have a better offensive line with more depth to help that possibility along. A few speedy receivers is a good thing too. Some decent backs and Hansen and Boardigham should be improved. Me likey!

Also, if our defense is improved, won't that help our offense too? Then there's special teams. Improvement would be fielding a special team unit with no duplicate numbers.:rolleyes:o_O

    I remain optimistic.;)

    Go Gators. :D

I'd say the first 2 are solid. It's possible that James and Marshall could be surpassed at their positions. Not saying it will happen but could.

The podcasts I listen to interview people who have watched the Gator practices. Stephen Harris recently was interviewed about the DL. Harris not only talked about the improvement, he played a video demonstrating how they're making the DL better. I saw a similar video on how the secondary are practicing tackling their coach. Coach Harris not only wants them to tackle correctly, he's being a human guinea pig! I heard Coach Harris talk to a player who didn't tackle him hard, and he asked him to tackle his Coach with more intensity. When BN says Will Harris is changing the secondary, I can believe it!

I like the enthusiasm but think coaches taking hits is dumb. We don't need concussed coaches.

Although the team signing his back brace might be fun.

if we have a weak front four, and a weak lb core, they will have a tough time but they have as much young talent as the rest. Get it kids

I think Coach Harris knows what he's doing more than you and I do! I get that it doesn't seem the ideal thing, but tackling donuts is moronic. Harris is using an oversized pad. I have watched it, and it doesn't appear risky. I'm just glad that it's him and not me! It is impressive to hear him say, "What was that? You need to do that over! This time, put a hit on me! I guess we will see if this training is effective?

Kentucky and Georgia put the wood to us. Every other game was within a few plays or penalties. Need to get those few plays.

If DJL is as good as we hope, the only way he will be here for 5 years is because of injury. The coaches should not worry about his red shirt. They need to see what he can do in game situations.

I believe we are going to see improvement in every area! WR is the one area where I'm not sure who else will break out this year. Gonzalez is giving Burke some love, but we need to see him play up to his real potential! If Burke, Fraziars, and Mizell come through, the WR room will be set!!!
