Tried to play like Jamaal Wilkes. Solid defense and rebounding, opportunistic scorer.

I had 6" less height and no skill so was more like 1985 post injury Wilkes watching James Worthy from the bench.

I tried to play like Walt Frazier. Too bad I wasn't 6'4" Small (5'8"), quick PG who averaged for my high school team just under 10 ppg (never shot against the lesser teams ), 7 apg, and 1 TO per game. Wish they had the 3-point line back in my day!

I was a regular at the old Florida gym from '78 to '85 (another 7-year plan! :))

Big fan of McAdoo also. I've mentioned on here before about an interview I saw of McAdoo discussing his shooting style and that he aimed between the two sides of the rim like he was shooting between goal posts. To me, it gives a very different perspective for your "shooting eye" than aiming for the center/front of the rim. I think it's worth trying and can be effective.

A lot of the black guys I played with independently nicknamed me "Phil Collins" during pickup games - I guess, somewhat unfortunately IMO, there must have been a resemblance. :D. It's true that my receding hair line had started to develop...
