I had the honor of meeting Carter, while he was President. I didn’t vote for him or agree with his fiscal policies. That does not diminish the once in a lifetime experience. I was not representing the organization that gave me untold money, free quality education, free publicity and exposure.
Whether big or small moments, it’s sad when your politics prevents you from enjoying any experience. It’s a sad commentary on society today.
I have been in the White House. Meh. I have also been inside the transonic wind tunnel at Arnold AFB outside Tullahoma, TN. That was much cooler and much harder to get in. And when I say "in" I mean inside the test section and not just the control room. It was originally built to test jet engines at full scale and sited there to take advantage of TVA hydroelectric power. Back then the power cost was $100K just to start it and $1M per hour to run it at night off peak hours.
Really disappointing to see a thumbs down on a quote from our President during the most recent championship White House visit. I’m personally looking forward to another perspective on our basketball season that I’m 100% sure that I never even considered.

You know a few players OFF the team or on the team? You suggest you wouldn’t be surprised if these players don’t go to the White House; really, how do you know? Did they inform you in the past few days or are you privy to their political leanings? If so, do you think they would be ok if you informed this forum who they are? While I have never personally seen you or your moniker on NBN before, I’m sure you know politics is forbidden on NBN; I’m just wondering why you felt the need to remind everyone who posts here and well know the rules, the rules?

Yeah, you seem pretty excited. I wasn’t trying to get you fired up and I don’t care how long you’ve been on here. You’re getting all riled up about people saying this is a once in a lifetime opportunity no matter who occupies the White House. I didn’t even suggest they should go, just that it’s an opportunity they probably won’t have again. Definitely not under these circumstances. I never said you said you don’t care if they go or not. I said I don’t care if they go or not. You said you wouldn’t hold it against them if they went, but have said multiple times that you hope they don’t.
I have been on this site over 25 years from its start with Gator Bait till what it is now I never said I know the players on the team, I have met all of them. Not just a few..my family has been around the campus since the mid 60s, myself since the late 70s..do I know their party affiliations no..I said I would not be surprised if some didnt go..I would not be suprised if they all go. See yall just read part of a post and get all fired up. My point was whether they go or not we should not be upset with them..but no..some people..maybe like yourself just want to see red and get fired up if a young person doesnt want to go meet and visit up there, I am not going to judge them either way. I just prefer them not to go, Todd said he and the team are going..I didnt jump on here and say I was upset with him when it was announced. That is his choice, so what, it is not going to affect me in any way personallly. Did it offend you in any way shape nor form?
