You’re making his point. You said all of UF coaches have either been fired or “walked out” on us. He accurately pointed out that those are the most common methods for any coach to depart any school, followed only by the very rare circumstance of dying on the job.

@Freedom gator: which UF coach in the last sixty years either retired or died on the job?

The only possible candidate for this was Ray Graves, who was kicked upstairs to AD to make way for Doug Dickey. And he didn't actually "retire".

Every other coach since then either walked, or was fired.

Why are we limiting to UF, how many coaches at P5 programs have died or retired? Leech RIP. Saban. Bowden. That was the best I could do off top of my head, I'm sure there are more. Make note the names listed will probably all be considered some of the best to ever do it at their respective programs. It's a dumb measure of a programs stability or desirability.

And in true Saban fashion he simply pointed at the sand and said "you know what to do with it" as he walked out.

uSf? How about go NE a bit along the 'dor and poach a proven SEC winner in Gus Malzahn from uCf?

With the infrastructure in place, GM imo, would have us completing for natty almost instantly.

Different era, but Vandy was once relevant. UF and Vandy parallels are eerily similar. For those not aware, Vandy was the preeminent southern football powerhouse at the turn of the 20th century and went on a 20 year run under Coach McGugin similar to what Spurrier and Meyer did. Our president that got the SEC started, Tigert played football at Vandy and was an staunch advocate for intercollegiate sports. They were also a noted private, academic school in an era that didn't produce a lot of athletics revenue and have cheaped out on Football since McGugin retired.

Unfortunately, from my 10,000' perspective, I see an administration at UF doing something similar and doing just enough to be able to keep reaching into the pockets of the fans as much as possible. As many have pointed out on this board, that will eventually fade if UF doesn't get serious about putting a winning product on the football field.

If Meyer came back, who is his OC?

Meyer has never been one and doesn't call plays. It has always been his OC.
