We aren’t the only school interested in kiff. He’s going to move for a raise.kiff will have options. We may be the best option but he is going to get paid if he is willing to move on. His job isn’t so bad at the moment. He hasn’t beaten a major team and he’s a savior. At UF, he has to beat Georgia on some type of time limit and that isn’t ten years.

They pay him 10 million with his bonuses (8.75 base salary), 3 million more than Napier makes. He isn't taking a pay cut to come to UF.

I only remember Notre dame being his preferred destination that he never got opportunity for. Certainly he had opportunities and that’s the only coach in my lifetime that I remember us taking the guy everyone wanted.

If you could give Bob Stoops or Urban a contract they would accept, I would take either. We need a caretaker that can turn this program around. Don’t want a young coach, don’t want a coach that has never coached top leagues and Urban/Stoops played for national championships.

 

Spurrier also had other choices. My memory does not allow me to go back any further than that. Without looking it up, I think I was, like, two when Charley Pell got hired.

Also important to remember that we get to learn very little in a coaching search until it’s done. We all thought we were after Chip Kelly a few years back. Then suddenly we weren’t after him at all, and Mullen was our “top choice” all along. But we don’t know. Maybe lost a bidding war with UCLA and Mullen was our face-saving out.

Hard to say at this point in the season. Possibly LSU a few games from now.

 

There will be a handful I’d guess. LSU, Michigan at the moment. As the season plays out, some other coaches may not have the season they expect? Oklahoma. Clemson… Does Ohio state lose 3? It’s going bad at fsu. I don’t have confidence that kiff is that guy but he could get his shot a the biggest contract ever if he were able to somehow knock off Georgia. Weird shit can happen. Maybe ole Miss gets boat raced a few times and his stock goes down.
