Damn - I envy you. Kruger is one of my favorite Gator coaches ever. I was at the Miami Arena when they beat UConn, that is one of my favorite Gator teams ever
Questioning that could be considered "negative" so all I will say is trust the process until proven otherwise
I would say that no one can honestly answer that question ( they can assume or have an opinion) unless they know what happened/happens behind the scenes and are a part of the meetings and discussions that went on..I don't think any of us are a part of that inner circle of the UAA or the UF administration..
no doubt you are exactly correct and being very charitable towards a poster who gets far too worked up at Gator Basketball struggles. thank you for your grace, and I would love to have a beer regardless (and one hopefully celebrating a Gator win) growing up in Gainesville and making my life here, I am sure that we shared the O’Dome many dozens of times over the years. the fact that it’s so empty now, and that the remodeling changes have sucked so much of the energy and life out of the building, are the things that are front of mind for me. that change to luxury alumni lower-bowl seating has completely neutered our home-court advantage and it’s never coming back. add in the student apathy from a losing/boring program and we have a real chance of slipping back into the Bad Old Days of pre-Billy instability and volatility. Golden desperately needs to win today, shutting up whiny folks like myself will be a far bigger victory than simply getting to 1-2 in the SEC.
I also liked Kruger and was at both the UConn and Boston College games in the 1994 Regional. I had extra tickets and couldn't convinve friends to go with them thinking we had no chance. Even with no chance a weekend on South Beach is not a bad few days. A friend of a friend that lived down there bought our two extra tickets for what we paid for them and we also enjoyed a pregame meal on South Beach. With the score tied and few seconds left in regulation AD tapped Donyell Marshall's elbow on the shot and Ted Hillary called the foul and it was the right call. I was thinking "It doesn;t matter if he makes both or just one. Our only hope is a heave for three." My wife turned to me and said "He's going to miss both." And the rest is history and how did she know?
I don’t think so. Transferring doesn’t affect eligibility. I think that he has another year of eligibility after this one.
He played two full years here. 3rd year, he went down in the fourth game. I think he’d qualify for a hardship waiver for that year. Sat out the following year, redshirt? He was on our roster in 2020 so he got an extra year of eligibility and an extra year to use it. I would say it’s possible he could still have two more years left after this one, assuming he requests a waiver for the year he was injured. Not sure he needs to show the NBA two more years of tape though. They may want to see him stay healthy for another year before they’re willing to throw tons of cash at him, but I can’t imagine he needs to show much more to prove he’s ready for the next level talent wise.
He just needs to show he can make it through a season logging serious minutes without any health problems.
That's the spirit! For me, of all the teams I've followed over the years, football, baseball, basketball, I've always hung in there with "my" team and when they finally win a championship it is so satisfying. Lifelong Gator fan and that isn't changing. I watch ALL the games, painful as it is sometimes.
Never forget UCONN laying bricks on the foul line for that one......LOL FYI, outside of maybe KY, UCONN mens team is just about my least favorite team in the NCAA.
You need to start working on your "Ladder of Hate". In 1999 were you happy or sad when UCONN beat Duke in the Finals. Actually I was OK with that result even though it cost me about $400 in an office pool. That is how much more I hate Duke compared to UCONN.
You're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I'm saying he didn't miss on transfers he wanted coming in except one. That's it. We may be turning the corner this week. They didn't look too slow tonight.
