Where do you rate Lane Kiffin as a coach at this point of his career?

I beg to differ, on both the "how good is he" and "how GOOD is he" points.

Last year they lost their last 4 games -- and 5 of their last 6. In those six games, their high score was 28. This was after starting the season "hot". But...they only played two ranked teams and went 1-1 -- loss to Bama, beat UK. In the UK win, they scored 22. It was likely their best win of the year.

"But Mississippi!" It's a good point. But in Sagarin 2022 ranking, Ole Miss was #30, 11 spots behind Miss State.

Previous season, they went 2-3 against ranked teams. In one of the two wins, they gave up 51 points (Arkansas.)

Has he matured? Perhaps in front of the cameras. But his FAU "hanging with the co-eds" act followed him to Ole Miss. I find that gross. Especially from a guy playing the "I've found God" card.

My take: he passes a lot, passing is entertaining, so people think he's a good coach.

 

Fair critique of last year's collapse, but under representation of that 10 win season in yr 2.

If u watch any of the ole miss games, better yet look at the stats, and he actually runs the ball as much or more than he throws it. His teams simply have the ability to throw it when needed which makes for an exciting offense. Some folks are envious. He also has an sec RB in Judkins. Plus he is a bit of a gambler....some times it works some times it doesn't.
