Inflation isn't something that is inevitable or has to happen, especially at the rate it has. We had next to zero percent inflation for years. Isn't it funny how Trump was able to keep gas at $2.00/gal to $2.50/gal and never even had to tap the strategic reserves to artificially lower it. Isn't it funny how the inflation didn't happen in 2017, 2018 or 2019.
Prior to Covid, gas prices during the Trump administration averaged over $2.50/gal. U.S. Regular All Formulations Retail Gasoline Prices (Dollars per Gallon)
Sorry but you are wrong. I remember what I paid during the Trump years. And Trump didn't even have to tap in to the reserves to try to artificially keep the prices low.
One would think that a mother who’s son died 3hrs and 23 minutes before this post would have far weightier things to be doing. But ive never been my own mom so what do i know?
You'd be surprised how little it really matters. Shipping costs vary significantly by item but it typically is around 4% of a good. Typically 20% of transportation costs are fuel. So basically when you buy something 1% of the cost is fuel meaning it could double and cost you 1%. Competition for transportation equipment is usually the driver of cost increases - covid, Suez canal, etc.
In January 2021, when Biden took office, gas price in Florida was $2.266. Inflation has been a huge issue over the last four years and along with Biden’s mishandling of the border, is the reason why Trump, who is a complete idiot himself, is basically still running neck and neck in the polls. But I have to give left wingers like Citygator credit. No matter how bad Biden has been (and he has been pretty bad) he is going to, similar to Trump supporters, toe the Party line and continue to almost whimsically think things are just fine.
I'm not a leftwinger. Social egalitarianism is no goal of mine. I am as embedded into capitalism as one can be. Inflation isnt Biden's fault anymore than Covid was Trump's fault. The border solution is legislation not a wall in useless places. Barriers, including walls, are a small portion of the solution.
Pulling from the SpR is a drop in the bucket. I doubt it had any effect on OPEC. What I saw was there is more demand and they are going to increase to match that demand.
Gasoline price Jan 2021 $2.38 per gallon Gasoline price today $3.61 per gallon That's a 51% increase since Biden took office. United States Gas Price History
What has driven that increase? Imo. Increased demand Russian embargo Houthi closing shipping lanes Inflationary pressures from covid and stimulus under both potus Other than the stimulus, which factor did Biden influence?
Trump sure got the 2021 price of gas low through his cratering the economy by mishandling covid, didn't he? Who would have ever suspected it would be ineffective to just consistently lie about its severity, while suggesting people take malaria drugs and horse dewormer?
No Party? No religion too? Just kidding, Tilly. That was take off of a John Lennon clip from a movie. So... are you staying home on election day? Or have you found someone from another Party to back?
Hopefully Trump is elected puts in 100% tariffs, cuts taxes, the economy collapses, 15M people get thrown out of work, and gas prices drop to below historically normal levels which is $3.40 adjusted for people’s wages and housing prices crash to half their current value. Then we will be in the conservative dream world.
Trump like all the rest of the country believed that this was a new and dangerous flu and acted accordingly (bad advice, in retrospect, in my opinion) but never forced or mandated more than the suggested two week stay at home. The real shutdowns happened after Biden took office. One thing that did make me mad is that all these people around Trump seemed to know the truth and lied to him and the American people at the same time. I'm sure that will all come out within the next couple of years. Hospitals denied elective surgeries to people that were not vaccinated. These same hospitals denied other medications for Covid-19 even with a patents personal doctor's prescription for drugs like Ivermectin... that's a lawsuit happening somewhere in a state right now, forgot which one. All the BS happened when Biden was POTUS, not Trump. Millions lost their jobs or were forced to take that experimental drug that, a drug that one federal court judge already ruled IS NOT A VACCINE. The crap is getting ready to hit that fan and more of what really happened is coming out.
You are in so much revisionist delusion that you might need to see someone professionally. Under Trump my company furloughed thousands of people and everyone was locked in their house and business was in free fall. That went on for months. Three months into Biden my office was fully back to work, testing its associates, and running a sales increase that hasn’t stopped increasing since. At no point was vaccines ever mandated in the business world. My entire executive team was vaccinated and 75% of our employees were. Unless you were in the healthcare industry or the military your vaccine decision was up to you. I don’t know what world you lived in during 2020 and 2021 but it was not the real world. Trump is such a magnetic personality that you’d change reality for him?
Good lord man, use your head. What was happening when Biden took office? Can you think of anything that may have resulted in lower gas prices? How about after Biden got elected, can you think of anything then? Use your brain! Don't be a sheeple.
