All fair and thank you for being a grown up in the room on this topic. To be clear, the medical issue is one I share with the choice side. The health of the mother trumps the unborn child in my opinion, though a lot of mothers disagree and I respect their opinion as well

And yet once they are gone that 4 year old would die due to starvation. The 4 year old can not sustain it's life without direct care from the mother, father or another person. They are still completely dependent on others to sustain their life. And do you apply the same standard to someone who is considered brain dead, who would immediately die if they were taken off life support? What about people who are clinically dead who again without medical intervention would be dead? Again in all of these situations the person involved would be dead and can not sustain their life. So in your eyes they aren't life right?
If 1 in 7 people can buy Little Debbie's, then there is literally 1 billion people on Earth who can feed the 4 year old. How many people can feed the 4 week fetus? One, single, individual soul. Therein lies the difference.
Once we have uterine replicators this will be a very different debate, but for now, only the expectant mother can keep the fetus alive, and after birth, just about anyone willing to put in the time can keep the child alive.
It still doesn't change the fact that regardless of when the baby is still in the womb or the baby is just out it is completely dependent on someone else. It can not survive by itself. The standard here seems to be that the fetus can't survive without the mother. Neither can a baby a few weeks old either. I'm not against abortion for the health of the mother, especially when the baby would die anyway. I think a first trimester abortion (12 weeks) law would be reasonable. No abortions after 12 weeks except for health of the mother.
^ To put on ignore or not to put on ignore? Definitely annoying. But kind of want to see the next violent outburst over Rape Daddy being found guilty in a court of law.......
Another GC thread is discussing a man who murdered his pregnant sister. That man is being charged with two murders: the murder of his sister and the murder of her unborn child. So if the unborn child is wanted, then it is human and intentionally killing it is murder. If the unborn child is not wanted, then it is not human and free to destroy. The humanness of the being is determined by an outside person. This is a scary thought. A little more than 80 years ago, an outside person decided that entire groups of people were not wanted and therefore were not human. He called them Untermenschen, subhuman, and therefore free to destroy. It makes no difference whether the beings destroyed are pre-birth or post-birth, because you’ve established the principle that an outside person can determine the humanness of the beings. Is this a world you want?
Doesn’t matter, as they are attached to what Trump represents, so the ends justify the means. Him having clinical personality disorders, allowing him to have no shame or willingness to admit defeat or wrongdoing, is a big part of why they love him. Got to “own the libs” at all costs.
The zygote in the picture that I posted is roughly the size of the head of a pin. The 18-week old fetus that was killed in the murder that you referenced looks like this: And was somewhere around 6 inches in length. Again just my opinion I oppose elective abortions at point in a pregnancy.
I’m glad you at least draw a line at some point, although we could discuss the arbitrariness of lines. In 31 states aborting that 18-week fetus is legal. My point is that whether or not that being is human is determined purely on whether or not the being is wanted.
I think most European countries have it right. 15 week limit, but government funding for first trimester abortions. After 15 weeks, abortions are legal when the mother's life is in danger. If we enacted a similar law, then 99% of abortions would still occur. 93% happen in the first trimester, and there are two major reasons why abortions happen later. One, money. Two, life of the mother. Ending the Hyde Amendment would allow women to get 1st trimester abortions when they couldn't afford it out of pocket. And mother's life protection would be the law. The reality is, over a billion people can take care of a newborn. But one a single, specific soul can take care of a fetus before viability.
Trump’s absurd claim about “millions” of criminal immigrant No, Joe Biden doesn’t want to quadruple your taxes Trump falsely said he didn’t say, “Lock her up'” Biden has not called for stopping all aid to Israel
While all those statements by Trump are obviously false and can and have been debunked his low-information supporters in his cult either believe them or think that his pathological tendency to lie is irrelevant.
