To the life begins at conception types this is a "baby". While others who confer "personhood" at six weeks of gestation would consider this a person (actual size roughly that of a kidney bean).
A line from a speech at a Democratic National Convention comes immediately to mind, "to a lot of Republicans the right to life begins at conception and ends at birth". The speaker was either the late Sen. Ted Kennedy or the late Gov. Mario Cuomo.
Long post, this immediately comes to mind regarding Trump (from 2016): Trump Hopes Not to Have to Ask God 'For Much Forgiveness'
I don’t like some of Trumps policies but that isn’t the reasons I can’t stand him. It is all of this other bullshit. He has made politics basically a reality TV show. Once he is gone I don’t think he is easily replaced from that aspect but I think the reality show performative aspect of politics is here to stay.
And your life separate from your Mather and Father began at conception. At that point you had a different DNA and different chromosomes than both your Mother and Father and your development began to where you are today!
I'm not going to be able to extend the metaphor. But if nearly the entirety of the Democratic party were mobilizing to collectively and actively defend and lie for Bob Menendez, or Rod Blagojevich (back in the day), and witnesstamper and denigrate our justice system on theirbehalf.... there is pretty much zero chance I would vote for anyone in the party. I'd be sitting out, hoping for a change, pretty much just resigned to our crummy fate we deserved. But NOT voting for the lying enablers of a lying criminal. But tbh, I pretty much WILL be watching us sink into our crummy fate anyways, I expect. We all will. And we will deserve it.
Is an embryo at point of conception or even a fetus at 6 week or going further 15 weeks capable of existing as an independent being separate from that of its mother? The issue is more theological than biological. While an embryo/fetus may be a separate entity using some biological criteria it is incapable of independent existence until the 22 week of gestation at the earliest and even then it requires existence medical support with survival nowhere near certain.
That was deeply moving. Jesus compels you to vote for the lying adulterous criminal, or at least for the party that lies for and enables him, correct?
I like that. With the declining birthrates we need to figure out how to keep youngsters coming. If we want workers to fund our retirements.
I have not seen the quote in context. However, my suspicion is he was not denying their personhood. I think he's mad and frustrated about what he feels was an unjust prosecution. He is acting like someone who might have been falsely convicted. That situation would probably bring the worst out of most of us. Nonetheless, being falsely convicted of a crime is a great injustice, and there are a lot of emotions one goes through when they are falsely convicted. Often they are angry and lash out at those who they think are responsible, and they want someone to be held accountable.
You were incapable of independent existence long after conception. AND long after birth. Your Life began at conception. Separate from your mother and father. You can continue to justify killing the most innocent for convenience. But spare us pictures of your own self at conception and 6 weeks to defend it…
Imagine how all of Trump's victims feel. I bet narcissists who rightly get convicted of 34 felonies also deal w emotions.
You may be celebrating too early. There is an appeals process. Also, an election. Also very possible SCOTUS is forced to grant presidents and ex-presidents immunity from state and local prosecution.
LOL. Someone participating in a legal medical procedure is a Nazi, but criticizing a man who has broken 8 of the Ten Commandments, who has never accepted responsibility for any of his actions, apologized for them or sought forgiveness is piling on? The worst part is he hasn't (redacted) stopped, he continues to carry on as he wishes regardless of who he hurts. I don't know what else he has to do to punch his ticket to Hell...break the other two? If one accepts the notion (I do not, I think it flies in the face of traditional Christian values) that some are predestined to Hell, Trump damn sure better be on that list. He is a man who has been adjudged a rapist (while he was married), a thief and a defamer of women (that's 3 Commandments right there) where there have been judicial determinations he has broken them just in court cases in the last year. The machinations self-labeled Christians have to go through for Trump is amusing to watch.
