Great Kareem quote about DeSantistan, specifically banning "Pride" flags

One more nail in the enlightenment coffin that DeSantis’ Florida has built on its way back to the Middle Ages.

Assume you saw this. Is it as bad as it seems? Are you at liberty to comment, even under a screenname?

BTW, funny movie, but don't think it was intended to be taken to describe an actual threat

I'm a civilian now and even more irrelevant than when I was employed. Up until now, you could shoot a bear if it was attacking livestock, a pet, or a person. This seems aimed at the gray area of people interpreting a bears intent which some or many people who have chronic issues with bears will begin to utter the magic words - "I thought he was going to attack my child".
But HELL YEAH those crack bears are after our women so there will be fewer women to date.

I feared that was what it was about. Sad.

And I wonder if it was really fed by the movie, which was funny as hell but had no relevance to reality

Why is a little voice inside of me insisting that is NOT a picture of California?

    Headlines in today's Orlando Sentinel:

State Bands Gender Changes On Driver's License

Florida Legislature wants to ban police review boards and parental rights on social media

Senators back "surgical" teen work changes (removes child labor laws)

More shadows of secrecy darkens the sunshine state

    Amending constitution could get harder

Restrictions on flag displays stalls in the senate

House panel targets "lewd and lascivious grooming"

Duhsantis is pushing back on the social media thing. I guess he read the constitution finally. - NOTE: This is not one of the headlines, although it should be.

Thanks. What is amazing is that I thought a lot of this was motivated by promoting DeSantis' Presidential run and might cool now. But if anything, they have increased the intensity. I also thought the Ziegler stuff would shame them from trying to take over every School Board. But still as intense as ever

Thank goodness our leader is tacking these emergency issues to which our State is desperate for government intervention.

Hold on, I just received my property insurance bill. Barf.

Ok, back to the topic … this is what we truly need from competent, responsible leadership.

Interesting note about the push for child labor law roll backs, especially at it pertains to roofing. That was pushed by Scott Perry who just HAPPENS to own a roofing company and has been sued multiple times for wage theft.

    Easier to screw over teenagers.

Is DeSantis bigger than Taylor Swift ?

One Taylor Swift thread. Five DeSantis threads.

    *mic drop*

Said it in the two threads specifically on the subject, the proclamation of "total victory" is analogous to proclaiming victory at half-time of a football game kind of like the total victory of the Detroit Lions over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game. Apparently "Bonchie" the guy wrote the story isn't aware that trial court decisions are subject to appeal and in this case an appeal is a virtual certainty. Giving credit where credit is due the optics look good for DeSantis although that could very well be temporary.
