    "Harm": #drama
"Miserable": Same can be said about the Liberal Republic of California.

You're so full of shit. "Oh, they're not harming me and mine, so they must not be harming anybody." Ignorance is bliss.

And you think everything that flies against your worldview is "harmful" .

Yet your worldview is ok with actually harming minors, children, kids with gender reassignment etc.

Your worldview is fine with harming small children by allowing them to read things that only adults should read.

Your worldview is ok "harming" one race to help another.

Your view of "harm" is no more sacred than mine.

    I'll sleep fine tonight.

This is total bullshit but it’s all you got, so……..

Edit sprinkling a little aggrieved white nationalist crap in there is a new low.

Wow, what a massive load of horseshit. My man, you’ve been had. You’ve basically taken all the recent rw fear mongering talking points and bought them hook, line, and sinker.

It’s pitiful. But I consider you a decent poster who at least is considerate, so to I’m not knocking you. Mostly it just informs me as to how effective propaganda can be.

Twist my words as you wish. My daily life and career serving the underserved put my money where only your mouth is. What are you doing for underserved communities today?

Nothing. You're to busy publicly dreaming of leaving the country.

Your post proves how much you missed my point. That point being that anyone can TWIST a narrative into being "harmful".

I was just twisting for effect.

I see my point was not clear enough.

My point was that what one person sees as harmful (removing books) can be seen by another as harmful of the books remain and that I dont change where I fall on that spectrum just because a message board poster says I should.

Why would I lose any sleep over people leaving Florida unless I also lose sleep over people leaving California. It just shows we are all soft and each side is full of Karens who manufacture harm.

I liked the effect of using the words minors, children, and kids to make it feel like as many affected groups as possible!

I actually don’t see “a point” in that post. I see you totally misrepresenting HIS worldview to make yourself feel better about your own. Was it coincidence these were all recent RW propaganda issues? Hell, you forgot trannies playing sports. That was a hugely important top of mind issue to you… like 5 minutes ago.

Look, i dont think something is hugely important because i joined in a message board thread and gave my opinion.

Do you feel the same about how "hugely important" he feels it is to say every differing opinion is doing harm?

I think its a fair question to ask.

He is the king of talking points man.

True only on the periphery. There is no perfect solution to children with gender issues. It’s possibly harmful to treat them. It’s also harmful to NOT treat them. So who to trust? Seems like you trust politicians or continually want big guv laws to crack down on social issues. To which I say… El Oh El. I’ll trust doctors and the families to make their own decisions. On the other side, you have nutjobs on the right threatening institutions such as Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Boston Children’s hospital like they are Comet Pizza. Sorry, this isn’t hard to figure at all.

Similarity, on “library” issues I’ll trust professional librarians and their standards more than “Karen’s” who want to ban books or access to content. If you want to trust hack politicians over professional librarians, who are clearly manipulating folks for political expedience (and in no way to help children), then you do you. Librarians are only under attack in red areas, it’s not even like there actually are librarians being “chased away” from blue areas.

On sports. I trust the sports bodies to make decisions on fairness in competition.

If you notice, the common thread is that you seem to prefer big guv laws to force society to adhere to your world view. On “social issues”, I prefer the government to be more constrained by laws that actually enforce civil rights, not laws that would actually undermine them for some.

So we sort of agree then. Both sides can scream about "harm" with a leg to stand on with some of this right?

And do you think there is no limit to what is age appropriate in a school library?

What if the librarian is heavily slanted one way? Would you trust a librarian who only allowed, Muslim books, Christian books, cook books, books that excluded slavery etc? A librarian setting rules is arbitrary. I think parents should have more say. Thats all. If the parents in Florida dont want tighter rules than they will elect a more liberal governor next time.

But this is about speculation. People leaving the state for XYZ reason. (Oh the horror)

The political posturing by Fried and others is like Drew Carey's old intro on Who's Line. The numbers are made up and score doesnt matter.

I can tell you that there has been an exodus from SW Fl. Farmers, contractors, restaurants, and hospitality are all feeling it with labor shortages during our slowest time of year. Season will bring high wages and even bigger labor shortages.

That isnt who most of our work serves my friend. Quite the opposite. And it isnt a story. It's my career calling and I love it. Unlike your desire to leave the country. I work everyday to better it for people who havent been able to enjoy it like I have.

I grew up relatively poor by many standards, but I was never in an underserved community. I wasnt raised with any white grievance either. My father has spent most of his adult life serving others and shunning monitory gain to do so.

But enjoy your white wealthy island that you are so eager to run to.

The rest of us will keep making things better for the ones we can help.
