Truly the anti-business governor. Find idiocy to go after businesses who don’t give him money. Budweiser wants to sell beer. If they have a pride event or hire minority actors to promote beer sales to a market, that is better for their brand. If they hire and promote DEI, good luck proving damage.

FAU had their lists of finalists and Randy Fine was not on it. As a result the University was forced to pause their selection process as an investigation into the process is being ordered

They (conservatives) boycott a company and then they (conservative leaders) talk about suing said company for damages that they caused..

Because Chris Rufo claims that one of the finalists, an Admiral from the US Naval Academy, is “woke”.

And people like @tilly think the reaction to DeSantism is disproportionate .

And super-cool for Orange County, specifically, and tourism in Florida, generally. Right? Because we know how much Floridians despise tourism revenue.

God, this guy is such a damn dingleberry. Legit question: Can those who still support him please help me to understand what you can possibly see in him? You like that he wastes your taxpayer money to fight non existent culture wars instead of trying to fix the real issues facing this state currently? Insurance rates are catastrophically high, but he’d rather try and take on Disney and Bud Light for things that simply don’t matter or are not important.

Strangely enough, the people here in Citrus County adore the guy and many of my female friends on Facebook creepily call him Daddy Desantis. It’s awkward as hell.

Seems like there should be a reference to cancel culture somewhere in this bud light saga.

I personally think Casey is pushing a lot of this agenda or at least convincing DeSaster his positions are correct.

Apparently DeSantistan is right, and is as much a concept as a physical land defined by borders

Under scorching heat Friday, thousands gathered in Baghdad’s Sadr City, a stronghold of influential Iraqi Shiite cleric and political leader Muqtada al-Sadr, some of whose followers took part in the attack on the Swedish Embassy. They brandished Qurans, burned the Swedish flag and the LGBTQ+ rainbow flag and chanted, “Yes, yes to the Quran, no, no to Israel.”

Looks like they also have a 303 Creative view about religious freedom being paramount over all other rights

The demonstrations come after Swedish police permitted a protest Thursday in which an Iraqi of Christian origin living in Stockholm — now a self-described atheist — threatened to burn a copy of the Quran. In the end, the man kicked and stood on the holy book outside of the Iraqi Embassy. He gave similar treatment to an Iraqi flag and to photos of Sadr and of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The right to hold public demonstrations is protected by the constitution in Sweden, and blasphemy laws were abandoned in the 1970s. Police generally give permission based on whether they believe a public gathering can be held without major disruptions or safety risks.

DeSantis is stuck in "woke-issue" purgatory right now as he can't really confront Trump straight up. This is the one way DeSantis can stay relevant, and if ever Trump goes to jail he can swoop in

My comment to this is that I think it discounts how deeply invested DeSantis is in his War on Hate. He believes in it, and I think he thinks it’s his mandate to wage this War and win this War.

Florida ended up with a significantly higher death rate than California, didn't it?
