I saw that. There are parts of the story where some students cannot even finish out they're required coursework in their final year to get their intended degree because there are not available faculty in their area. Of course, this is all by design as part of the war on objective knowledge

I think we all expected this but it is happening faster than I thought it would.
    Neuroscience is woke. Apparently.

Corcoran is another political hack. No university experience and was given his last gig as political payback.

What in the ever loving f***:
Florida Board of Education OKs Black history standards amid outcry
Opponents pointed out several issues in the curriculum: Elementary and middle school students are not required to learn about African American history past Reconstruction; the middle school curriculum includes a benchmark clarification that states “Instruction includes how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit;” and in high school, when learning about the Ocoee Massacre, the benchmark clarification states “Instruction includes acts of violence perpetrated against and by African Americans.”

    Now they’re coming for Arthur

On July 12, 2023, the book Arthur's Birthday was formally challenged in the Clay County School District, which is located outside of Jacksonville, Florida. The challenge is an effort to remove the volume from the district's school libraries. The book tells the story of Arthur, a bespectacled anthropomorphic aardvark in the 3rd Grade, whose birthday party is scheduled at the same time as one of his classmates, a wealthy monkey named Muffy. Initially, the dueling birthday parties divide Arthur's 3rd Grade class, with the boys pledging to attend Arthur's party and the girls committing to Muffy's celebration. The tension is resolved when Arthur arranges for a joint get-together.

The book, by Marc Brown, is part of a popular children's series that was spun off into an Emmy-winning children's cartoon.

Right-wing activists seek to ban "Arthur's Birthday" from Florida school libraries

Can't have children learning to compromise and work for the common good...they'll grow up to be Democrats.

According to one of our esteemed mods here, this is certainly not racist or an attempt to rewrite history but just trying to protect black people from slavery misinformation.

You know that ins crisis the one that’s being caused by ins carriers leaving the state. The DeSatan admin has and they’ve ID’d the cause it’s captured by a four letter word….

    Wait for it……….

    You guessed it “woke”

A four-letter fix to Florida’s property insurance nightmare. Begins with ‘W’ | Editorial

In an interview with NBC News, the state’s chief financial officer blamed increasing costs on “woke” insurance companies with liberal executives. He did not mention plain old-fashioned business decisions, the kind that for-profit companies make all the time in free market, capitalist societies. How much is “woke” to blame? “100%,” he said. He added that “the ‘woke’ policies that these corporations embrace are them not having that eye on the target.”
