    Interesting topic.

although we unfortunately don’t look back - study history like we did even 20 years ago. Now there is so much news, social media, entertainment, coming at us we can’t keep up.

Yes, but some issues are pretty obvious and Biden’s diminished capacity is something that was apparent to any objective person.

Biden was old and acted old. That is different than cognitive decline. Old guys move slower. However moving slow can keep you out of alot of trouble.

History will say that compared to the mental midget that took office after him, he looked like a Mensa member.

Biden's administration didn't wreck our economy, dismantle our federal government or disrupt international alliances in 90 days.

It matters not what his cognitive condition was.

The overarching question for today? How crazy is the guy (and his administration) replacing Biden?

The cognitive decline was really most relevant from a political perspective - they had to hide him which made him seem weak, and he could project positive political messages, eventually causing the party to abandon him and hastily bring in a mediocre Harris at the last minute.

According to Pelosi, Schumer and a lot of Democrats, Biden's cognitive condition was going to cost them the White House, the House, and the Senate which is why they pushed him to drop out. That was the reporting in the book Fight by Allen and Parnes.

That book also covers something that was interesting which is how the Democrats have sided when it comes to Biden. The Clinton side of the party has been supportive of Biden, while the Pelosi and Obama side of the party have held him responsible for the loss. Harris, who the book makes clear is not close with the Obamas, also thinks that Biden cost her the election.

And again it must be asked. What will history say of $Trump's cognitive skills? Are they declining? And what of his psychological makeup?

Can Americans be confident in the staff surrounding him? Can Susie Wiles and company really manage him?

Again it must be asked, why don't you go start a thread about Trump's mental decline? It has nothing to do with Biden's.

History will end up saying he was still somehow better than Trump.

Seems relevant to me. You know presidents with mental decline. Maybe we should toss Reagan into the discussion also. Seems just as relevant.

And no I'm not starting a thread on it.

Wasn’t Woodrow Wilson, one of our worst presidents ever (but thought to have had a high IQ) incapacitated by a stroke his final year in office ?

I think the results of his administration are what will be talked about, not his obvious physical and mental slowing. I think it will only be substantively referenced in a few paragraphs addressing his failed reelection bid.

According to some historians Edith Wilson was effectively the president during Woodrow Wilson's last year in office. Prior to his stroke he was also apparently incapacitated for a period as the result of the Spanish flu.
