Mine are almost all sports, pop culture and comedy. I can't focus enough to listen to news or science.
I got my wife to listen to one Carlin podcast on a long trip. Afterwards she said it was way too much detail. She felt it was full of minutiae like a Facebook post. Kind of like “Genghis Khan enjoyed his favorite Saturday morning breakfast: scrambled eggs and fried brains of a defeated enemy.”
I will also say that if you start subscribing to free Substack feeds, you can also be overwhelmed with high quality free content
Thanks for this. I searched in my normal podcast manager and found 10 different podcast series from The Economist. The problem with listening to the magazine is I felt obligated to listen to every single story, which would take quite a long time.
They have a daily podcast which has all of them. I don't listen to every one, plainly. I do try to listen to the 30 minute daily regularly
Fly On The Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade. If you're an SNL fan, this is a great podcast. Each week a different guest and most have been either current or former SNL cast members providing a behind the scenes glimpse into the show.

Getting Things Done Sounding Off with Rick Beato. Order of Man Get Fit Guy (Quick and Dirty tips network) Science Vs.
I’m going to try the Bulwark and a couple of Reason ones. Mentioned this in another thread, the President Daily brief seemed interesting and informative but the host went off the rails when discussing Covid, other diseases and Fauci, so much so he lost credulity.
The Bulwark may not be for you as you will find their discussions heavy on former President Trump derangement.
Author Jonathan Katz on the darker side of some podcasts, ripping off the work of authors like him, specifically his recent book on Smedley Butler, and profiting off it without attribution. Man I feel his pain. He’s a great writer. I did pay for his book, glad to say Highway robbers of the knowledge economy
