What is the point of two offensive line coaches?

    The stats are pretty bad right now:

    Rushing:

    140.60 yards per game (ranked 88th)
    3.93 yards per rush (ranked 94th)
    1.58 yards/rush on 3rd Down (w/ less than 3 yards To Go)
    6.40 tackles for loss allowed/game (ranked 91st)

    Pass Protection:

    2.40 sacks allowed/game (90th)

    Recruiting/Transfers (last two years):

    Average: 87.89 (3-star)

    Kiyaunta Goodwin, 95.92 (4-star)
    Roderick Kearney, 93.61 (4-star)
    Fletcher Westphal, 90.90 (4-star)
    Damieon George, 89.67 (4-star)
    Caden Jones, 89.30 (4-star)
    Marcus Mascoll, 88.27 (3-star)
    Bryce Lovett, 87.35 (3-star)
    Knijeah Harris, 86.77 (3-star)

    Coaching positions we are lacking:

    Special Teams
    Offensive Coordinator

    Do we more-than-likely need them? Uh, yes.

    So if having an extra offensive line coach is not benefiting us, and not having those other position coaches are hurting us... then why do we have it? This is not knocking Napier, or saying that he sucks as a coach... I am just saying, what is the justification for keeping things as they are?

    It’s not just 2OL coaches, it’s at the expense of a ST coach. And both units are subpar right now.

    We need two coaches to make sure we don’t have two players wearing the same number at the same time.

    Two is twice as much as one. We have a 100% increase in offensive line coaching. The offensive linemen are now twice as good as they would be with just one coach. :emoji_nerd:

    Having 2 OL coaches it’s a failed experiment. No other team I know does this. BN has to focus on getting upgrades of OL from the portal as well as recruit top OL.
    Doesn’t seem 2 OL coaches are developing the line plus takes away from getting a new OC.
