Mostly idiots but it’s pretty unanimous in gatorland.

 

Napier did not change the offensive schem. The Miami D was well coached and disciplined in how to contain the Gator O. Also, the Gator O-line showed zero progress from last season. In other words crappy blocking.

 

I would bet opposing defensive coordinators just laugh at how easy it is to scheme against our offense. A couple adjustments and it's over because the guy won't do anything but continue to try the same stuff over and over. Load the box, shut the run game down and dont worry about losing the back end on the big play since he only does side to side crap all game. Game over.

 

I’m afraid it’s the same guy that allows the SEC to make our conference schedule as unfair as possible.

The plays were in fact there to be made. Not a sober dude, but, I don't drink and it was obvious. No timing whatsoever.

 

Has anyone checked Napier for a concussion?

 

Yes and you dont go back to Mertz. You can’t, there’s no need to. If he does, it’s Franks/Trask again

 

Since this Mertz got encurred the concussion on a Saturday late afternoon, the doctors will have to wait until Tuesday to determine the extent of Mertz's symptons. Yes it can take up to two days for the brain injury symptons to show up. The CT's, MRI's, and other tests/examanations can give the doctors a good look. However, they do not show everything. Thus the two day wait.

So it is possible that around noon this Tuesday, Mertz could get the AOK to go to practice that afternoon. Then again, if the symptons persist or the testing/examination show issues, Mertz will not be cleared to play until he is good to go.

 

Agree. On one hand, I hope Lagway starts from here on out. But, it might give BN more time as HC because some in charge might justify it with “he’s rebuilding “. UGH.

 

I just looked at the play where Mertz got sandwhiched slammed between two Miamin Defenders and then fell hard onto the turf.

To me, this looked like a clean play by both of the Miami defenders. Yes it was rough but it was clean play (no targeting or unnecessary roughness).

What was really telling in this play was the poor blocking by the Gators Right Tackle and Left Guard. Neither player initiatied blocking contact on their men. It was like watching two matadors doing an Ole at a bullfight.

Frankly at this point, if this is the best blocking we can get out of this unit, the best play will be for the QB to hand off to a running back for an up the middle play. This way we can keep our QB's out of concussion protocal.
