Red zone has been terrible all year, ranked near the bottom.

Has anyone here ever wonder if an NIL for any "team players" have ever had ulterior motives? Just a though.

I think we as a nation should reconsider legal college football gambling. So much easy free money to be had for poor underprivileged peoples in all ethic groups, including white kids. It has NOTHING to do with color. It may just be happening right now.

Watch the sandbaggers in college suddenly turn into superstars in the pros.

This is NOT about our players NOR is this about our QB, hes solid as a rock Gator, but other players from other teams?

Will this ever happen? Could it aver happen?

I didn't want to start a new thread, sorry if you guys/gals thought this was the wrong thread to post a thought about what is going on in college football, in my opinion... under the the visible current.

Just for fun, if you have the time, look up who owns the high profile high school sports programs like IMG Academy.

He can go on potential this year. May be a bet worth making. If he stays next year, he would have to improve a lot imo to receive the same chance. Potential dwindles with time until there is less potential and you kinda are what you are. After another year, do you get the same bump for potential?

If AR stays we should be a SEC and CFP contenders.

If he leaves with no transfers we are a mid pack SEC team

If we get Hartman we’d need a ton of breaks but we got SECCG upside.

Long story short you are crazy if you don’t want a returning QB with uber upside

I'd like to see him return, but he's not going to.

I think we'll be significantly better in 23, but not a contender for a championship.
There is just too much work needed to be done to fix the defense.

I saw a mock with the Colts taking him a 14. Keep Matt Ryan one more year to develop AR.

Vanderbilt is ranked 125th out of 131 teams in total defense, and dead last in the SEC. They gave up almost 500 yards to Elon and 350+ yards to Northern Illinois...have we as fans sunk so far that we are now bragging about a QB's performance against Vandy??

I saw a mock draft this morning that didn't list him in the 1st round. Not that that actually means anything, but he obviously didn't help himself against FSU. Not ruling anything in or out, but the "1st round lock" ship may have sailed at this point. Stay tuned.

You are obviously intitled to your opinion, but you have no clue what we would look like without him. Stating it like it is a fact does not make it a fact.

I like the kid, I really do, but that statement after the Vandy loss has really turned my opinion on if he has what it takes. It may have been made during the emotions of the moment, but I still don't get how you're starting QB can make such a statement.

The issues with AR are as follows:
    1) Lack of leadership/emotional maturity.
AR doesn't seem to inspire his teammates. He tends to sulk after a bad series and then typically isn't able to break out of the funk. Also, one thing that bothered me in the FSU game was his mocking of the tomahawk chop after scoring his first TD. Game isn't over yet, save that until you've won. Or better yet, don't do it at all.

    2) Poor awareness.
Tends to panic and bug out of a clean pocket. Frequently doesn't throw to his best WR option. Throws into double/triple coverage. Doesn't show enough urgency when needed. Takes too long to find his target - guys are open, but by the time he decides to throw it, they are covered up.

    3) Inaccuracy/ball control.
Typically throws behind his receivers on crossing routes. Underthrows the RB on screens. Overthrows receivers down field. Throws the ball too hard when more touch is needed.

    These problems are exacerbated by:
    1) Poor supporting cast.
Dan Mullen didn't leave AR much to work with. Billy Napier provided our best O lineman, our best WR, and our two best RBs. Mullen's seasoned recruits have been kind of average.

    2) Poor play-calling.
Billy Napier is not a good X's and O's coach yet. He hamstrings AR by not having adequate clock management, not spreading the receivers out wide, calling low-probability-of-success passing plays at times, inadequate red zone play-calling.

    3) Lack of fan support.
AR has incurred the wrath of a lot of fans by not living up to their expectations for him. It comes with the territory, but I don't know if he has the emotional maturity to handle that kind of pressure. When he doesn't play well, people act like he's committed some crime. Poor QB play = bad person.

On the plus side, many of these problems can be rectified with more experience. He is not NFL-ready. Hopefully this season has humbled him a bit, and he decides to come back and work on being a better leader, teammate, and QB in the off-season. A lot of fans are frustrated and want to move on from him, but he is our best option at QB.

AR seems like an all-around good kid. Hopefully he will return next year new-and-improved and win back the fanbase.

Maybe his ankle will heal during the offseason. Maybe he'll lose the starting job to a better QB. Maybe he'll play like it's game day.

People were bashing his performance. His performance was as good as can be expected. It’s not a moral victory at all. We have a ton of reasons why we lost vs Vandy, but QB play isn’t in the top 10

Sure anything can happen. But there is zero evidence that any QB on the roster or we can get via transfer would be in the same universe as AR. Especially an AR with a year under his belt.

Next year should be better with or without AR as the team should make massive strides. A D going from bottom 10th percentile to median is worth a few wins… even if QB plays regresses some

I agree with almost everything you said. But I don't know if anyone actually thinks he's a "bad person" - although some are absolutely writing him off as a bad QB. Like you, I like the kid and wish him well. Whatever he decides to do, I'll be pulling for him to succeed. I do think though that if some NFL team let's it be known they will take him in the first round, he should probably go, ready or not. Life changing money is hard to walk away from and there are no guarantees it will be there ever again.

I personally do not believe that AR will go into the NFL draft next year. If he does it will not be as a QB's
Gone are the days when the NFL drafted development projects for the QB postion.
Today, many colleges have QB's that have a good grip in game management and passing skills. It is apparent that AR is a great running back but he is behind many QB's in passing and game management skills.
So in my opinion AR has his options. One option is to go into the NFL as a running back/receiver. The other option is to from him to stay at UF (or go to another college) and upgrade his QB skills.

14 straight incompletions vs. the Noles do not lie. Nor do the rushing statistics comparing AR to the Noles QB. AR got a bunch of media hype over a few great plays, but consistent he is not.

When has he ever rallied the team to a victory? Utah maybe?

Granted, our D is terrible, but AR never takes it on himself to win.

In the clutch, he lobs passes into the stands.

With Jeff Saturday as coach and a center for Payton (an honest NFL QB) I can't see him endorsing AR based on his play this year anywhere in the first six picks.

I doubt Saturday has much say. Isn't he the interim coach?
