How about we just make it a two team playoff and have Georgia and Alabama play each other, since no other team is worthy.
Nah. Some things are just pro forma, but you’ve got to go through the motions anyway. Like politely asking Japan to surrender or face “utter destruction.” You know they won’t, and you’ll have to do more terrible things to force an end, but you can’t just not give them a chance to surrender. Similarly, you can’t just not give the token Big Ten or PAC-12 team a chance to get their teeth kicked in by the inevitable champion from the SEC. It would not be fair. And, hey, every once in a while they get an upset, like an Ohio state university did a few years ago against Alabama. That makes everyone feel better for a short period.
Or letting fsu in for beating a second rate team in their championship Game . Texas played a rollover too. The thing is, Georgia I’ll curb stomp those teams. Probably about to stomp Bama too.
Usually. I think this year the gap between the sec and others is a lot closer than it has been in years. This is one of Bama’s more vulnerable teams. And UGA’s, for that matter.
Georgia is quickly rendering this discussion moot. Edit: I am pleased that this post is not aging well.
Sweet. To Hell with Georgia, the cesspool of the South? Can I get my hourly update on what their winning streak is now, please?
If Michigan wins their game, I think Georgia is out. Washington is in, Alabama is in IMO. FSU is probably in if they win, but that's debatable. If Michigan wins, they're the #1 seed. I then think Texas gets in if FSU doesn't.
Have to agree with this. Really hoping that F$u Loses the late game tonight. Would not want to be voting on the committee this year. Looking forward to next year and we have 12 teams in the playoff.
I would like to see that, but I kind of doubt it. Georgia is built all across both lines as well as their defense. They’re gonna be tough to be for quite a while.
Washington actually has a stout team. I give them a chance. If FSU gets in, I think they get crushed by whoever they play.
In 2010, would you have thought we’d be where we are now? Not saying it will happen, but there’s hope!
