He was a true freshman. I do agree that losing Ricky is significant but we also must acknowledge that most freshmen do not produce like he did.

 

We have NFL coaching and playing experience on our staff. Pretty sure that's at least a notch above the ragin Cajuns

 

We got Schmidt as a PWO QB

Idk lol, I was shooting from the hip and my memory. Maybe , but I know we just got a PWO QB.

 

Sure, but he'll be a known quantity Soph in 2024 with nowhere to hide on the field if we don't get another WR that can be enough of a threat to complement him.

 

I don't think our WR room is full of bums. Lots of speed and Billy G should be able to get them using it effectively. Obviously certain guys in the portal are still takes, but LB is a higher priority in my eyes.

 

Question with shorter answer would be "What holes do we not need to fill?"

 

Maybe the speed are the Frosh that didn't or barely played? I see a lot of gritty, possession type WR's at that position, otherwise. We need a Pearsall type replacement, stat.

 

It absolutely astounds me that so called gator fanatics think that what was wrong with our team in 2023 was our offense. Clearly, the O-line wasn't good. But our defense? Dios mio!!! Probably the worst Gator defense in 50 years.

 

I haven’t looked at #’s, so I don’t know for sure, but I think if the 2023 D was worse statistically than the 2022 D then its not only the worst in the last 50 years, but the worst in UF history.

 

I think it was better statistically. But it sure never passed the eye test.

 

We need experienced LBs, OTs, and DEs from the portal.

 

I have read rumors that Miller will take a medical retirement his 1st surgery on his hand went badly and had to have a second to try to fix it. from what I read he is done

 

We need more big-uglies and more big-nasties... and the best position coaches available.

I the skill side we need to keep getting more and more speed.

And thankfully we have the right QBs, but one more skilled QB can't hurt... or at least a very decent walk-on.

 

Great! Now we need a new ortho too?

it’s interesting, but I think sometimes we forget about these guys and the great future they have:

k. Collins
TJ Searcy
Kamron James
All flashed this year with Collins and Searcy having outstanding freshman campaigns. If we don’t get seven or eight sacks between between Collins and Searcy, I’ll be shocked. James has incredible upside.
Between Searcy and Collins I think them combined should more than account for Princely’s numbers. Don’t forget about Boone. He has serious talent. I wouldn’t be shocked to see us not get an edge guy in the portal as again Collins and Searcy have major major talent. The kind of talent that Hass to be in the lineup 60 to 70% of the game at the very least
