When the last person to post in a thread is listed as "ignored member," what does that mean? Ignored by whom? I always thought ignoring someone was a matter of individual choice, not an executive decision someone else needs to make for me because I lack the judgement to decide what I should and shouldn't read. Then you can go in and see who is being ignored anyway, as if to rub the "offending" party's face in it. Bad form, IMO. If you are being sanctioned by the site, it should be between you and the administrators and mods. It's nobody else's business.
I’m guessing you have back2back ignored and fyi he started another lame thread with a YouTube video that your not missing out on. Shows up as blocked by you. All just a guess.
You can block people, or they can block you, and sometimes if they are the last person to post in a thread you will see it as “ignored member”, this will go away the next time someone else posts in the thread. I never liked blocking posters, but the covid idiots had me start it out (first with gatorfever, then I added a few more as time went on). A few posters who I have no idea who they are apparently have me blocked. Some of those guys are like spambots, so certain threads would always be “last post: ignored user”.
Sounds strange that you would be able to view who the poster is if you don't have anyone on ignore. Pretty sure nobody is making these decisions for us. Not sure what you mean by rubbing people's face in it. They won't know whether or not you viewed their post.
I don't know now because it's gone. It was there with the poster's name and avatar and no text, not even a placeholder period. I didn't make a mental note of who it was. Sorry for raising a fuss and offering no solutions.
If you use tapatalk you can see all the posts by people that have you on ignore. On the website occasionally you can see posts by users that have blocked you but they’re blank. If you quote the post you can see their message if I remember correctly.
I never had anyone on ignore until I think @gator_lawyer told me about how it works and I blocked a few people. Mostly it was the guys going around hitting dislike on all my routine posts or the guys who like to put funny on everything they disagree with. I don’t miss them one bit. Matter of fact, I am quicker on the ignore trigger now if someone is annoying. Makes the experience better, IMO.
I see. This would explain what Spurf meant by rubbing people's face in it, but I can't imagine a poster being able to quote and reply to a member who placed them on ignore.
Hey, hey, hey. Not fair. Give spurf some credit, he’s perfectly capable of that all on his own. Edit: just noticed your quote. LMAO
I see the posts as “unknown member.” Sometimes I post “likes” in those posts I can’t read. If this was the insider board, I wound engage my persona there and joke around about it. I am proud to say that I have never blocked anyone and won’t.
Historically I wasn’t a big fan or ignore functions but with the whole Covid thing I just found there were some posters whom I could learn nothing from - given the constant disinformation.
