Simply, less tendencies and more plays that rely on Lagway pulling it down and running when it opens up. If we are gong to be middling on the O-line, you can't just beat up the good teams who are just as talented. Do that and then everything opens up. Mertz was a QB after Napier's own heart. Lagway is Tebow's and Spurrier's.
Yes, and our issue on offense has been the line of scrimmage. The Gators have gotten great WR's in the portal and recruiting, but not as well on the OL!
Although I agree with Wunderlich, Tre is not the only correctable on offense! Getting an OC will enable Billy to oversee the entire program and to perform at a much higher level--because the OC can focus solely on the playcalling. This is a no-brainer!!! And it is not anti-Billy at all, as it would obviously strengthen the football program! Notre Dame is an interesting case study in more ways than just offensively, too! We definitely need an OC but You guys that are still holding out hope for one are incredibly resilient. Billy has zero interest in hiring an OC and I am telling you emphatically do not hold your breath. Zero chance. Calling plays is the main reason he coaches and this season only cemented the fact he can do it in his mind.
If DJ has the talent of Manning, Napier will look like a great oc. If he is AR, Napier will lose his job no matter who he hires as oc.
Great time management. Tons of TD's. An OC. A stifling and dominant defense. DJ 2.0+, make the play-off's and dominate. Instill fear in all teams we play!! Go Gators
8-5 theres a long way to go on both sides of the ball at every position. The line could use improvement also. DJ was under contant pressure. They weren't bad but they weren't elite either.
Constant pressure? Lagway was a one legged statue the last three games before the bowl and was under very little pressure. The line was excellent. For QBs under constant pressure just go back to the last three games of the season and look at the QBs for LSU, MS and FSU- they were under constant pressure. If you want to talk the bowl game when UF had pressure on the right side of the OL. You need to look at who played. When your 4th OG/OT are starting on the right side, there may be some issues. The OL of Barber, Harris, Slaughter, George/Lovett, BCD was very good. Much better than "decent/not bad".
I look at them when I say decent as better than average in the SEC. Not national championship worthy line, but definitely not bad. I don't see any first round NFL offensive line. That's what I would call elite

Re OL, we aren't recruiting well enough to have a "great" OL. Can two decent OL coaches eventually coach their players to be pretty good, yes. Have 3 timeouts at the 2:00 mark of each half. No more wasting timeouts early in the half. Drives me crazy.
Disagree... Going strictly by rankings is imprudent. Many other factors are involved. For example. How can a low rated recruit become an All-American center?
