Hey, you people want to buy players. No better way than that. What's stopping us from approaching them? You know they would be hugely interested.

There is no ROI from buying players.

Now form up a new league of top college teams ( 32 teams)that play great weekly match ups and collect on the media rights. That would be something.

It's not about ROI for the Saudis, it's about propaganda. Specifically, injecting themselves into something that is woven into the fabric of western (or US) culture.

As for the 32 team league. I'd love it. Especially if UF and a bunch of others who actually value academics opted out.

And the 12-team playoff is already going to generate huge revenue. It's just a matter of the split.

That would be the forming of the next failed WFL/USFL/XFL/UFL/AAF/XFL again. Why watch teams full of players not good enough for the NFL if there's no compelling reason?

No the 32 teams would be made up of the top 8 teams of each P4 Conferences. They would still be college teams playing in the new football only league. Imagine playoff level games throughout the season.

Buying HS kids does not guarantee winning. Most are not ready year 1. Not playing a kid in year 1 they you bought via NIL just leads to Texas A&M meltdown

We can put Saudi Wealth Fund patches next to SEC patch on Uniforms. Texas could be sponsored by Shell Oil. That would be the end of college football. Perhaps better than Athletic programs requiring their alumni to fund and finance their college football program

They should just create their own league and pay the college guys to skip school and then poach some bigger NFL guys. Cheaper than buying a franchise in the NFL.

I’m betting on. That’s where it’s going. They don’t need all the deadweight

It would be a long way to travel for home games. I guess we could charter some planes.

Instead of gatorbait, our opponents could be "camel dung." Instead of the swamp, it could be, the desert, "only camels get out alive."

    Just thinking out loud. ;)

We could have the top 24 players in the recruiting class lined up to play and our OC/Head coach would still call a bubble screen or flat pass around a run up the middle, then punt and play a safety defense.

Cool. Buy up existing players then. No rules stopping it and I'm sure someone else's QB would be happy to make the switch for the right price.

Seems easier to just ask Santa for players. The odds of either happening are the same.

I hardly ever post, read a lot, but this thread makes me realize college football is dead...soon to be all college athletics. Too bad...r.i.p.

I mean, I'm kidding. . . but not. It would certainly be one way to crush NIL. A literal bottomless pit of money. . . provided you like the taste of bile.

Why? They'd jump at the opportunity.

Plus. Someone's going to do it.

Jump at what "opportunity"? There is no "opportunity".

There is some really delusional thinking going on right here.

It would be the sports washing opportunity of a lifetime. Invest in a sport that is woven into the fabric of American life. It's exactly the kind of thing they target with the private wealth fund. And why not (ethics aside)? Whatever it takes to win, right? Get in with that and you got a bottomless well of money to spend. . . on everything.
