What about the fact that we were pushed out of bounds? (I’ve added video proof)

On our final touch of the game trying to score or run out the clock.

He were shoved out of bounds with a hand push which gave him the trajectory to go out of bounds. Sorry don’t have play on me. I’ll look after TG. Happy TG :)

Shouldn’t that push have kept the clock running due to the momentum rule?

it would have made the difference in the game as it would have drawn nearly a minute more off clock.

    Am I wrong here?

*Sorry to mods for posting this as it happened but i just figured when they hit the FG it was over and then they put the second back on so I posted twice early by accident but didn’t want to write it all again on game day.

If the push takes him backwards forward progress is ruled and clock keeps running. Lateral or forward stops the clock.

Now even the clock management guy is in on the conspiracy. Writers, referees, the conference, Missouri's clock management guy. How will we manage against them?

I actually thought we got the benefit of some calls vs Mizzou. A clear pi wasn’t called vs Kimber for one.

All tETN had to do was sit down and the clock rolls.
I love the kid but I’ll never understand this decision.

As far as I know, it's always been that way as long as the move backward is initiated in bounds.

Perhaps I've never paid attention to the nuances around the sideline, thought the clock just stopped if the dude went out of bounds regardless.

How could I be wrong when it was a question?

Wouldn’t that be momentum? “?” means it’s interrogative. Happy TG!

I actually thought the game was pretty fairly called. I also didn’t think it was nefarious and in fact since nobody but me complained about it figured I must be wrong. I thought when he was pushed it would keep running. Answer the gentleman gave sounds sure enough I don’t even have to look it up.

If it’s a question regardless what it is, it’s a question and can’t be wrong. Questions can only be obvious, this one obviously isn’t since we have q couple different thoughts and it seems to me nobody is sure. I’ve actually had this discussion with some very knowledgeable people, a player and a coach in HS and neither were sure.

From article: This is a good question and one that I don’t think announcers spend enough time explaining, especially in crucial circumstances. They are almost contractually obligated to use the term “indisputable video evidence” every time that there is a review, but they can’t take five seconds to remind viewers about the clock mechanics on an out-of-bounds play?

Ask LGHL: When exactly does the clock stop when a player goes out of bounds in college football?

This article explains it well and it has been a change and actually makes a point to call out our announcers for not explaining it (the innuendo is they don’t know) yet the say “indisputable evidence” every time there is a challenge but no announcer ever explains the new rules.

moot issue He ran out of bounds on his own. no push. Big mistake but that isn't the reason we lost.

I guess it's along the same rule that if a receiver jumps into the air to catch a ball the defender can legally push him out of bounds before his foot touches the in-bounds. This while the receiver is in the air... therefore no catch... out of bounds.

No, it should have kept the clock running. Doesn’t matter his intentions even. He was hit in bounds by a tiger and went out of bounds because of an in bound shove/hit of the shoulders. It was even worse than I remember. This is down to a non understanding of the rules by the announcers like that article I poster said.

This is the final play before we kick our FG (one play before) we could have ran off however many seconds.

clock still should have ran all the way down, we call time out and run it down to nearly nothing, no way they get down to where they did.

go to 1:43:20 of the YT spot and watch it in slow motion. Momentum was decided by Tiger player as he knocks him out of bounds. Intention by ETN literally doesn’t matter if you think “well it looks like he would have gone out anyway”. He still got hit in bounds to go out which doesn’t stop the clock.

ok, so from the angle, cant see if he was hit out of bounds or not. only way to know is if the camera was showing down the line.
