This is true and the staff has to have the same checkbook or better than the competition. A kid can admire the hard work and atmosphere but he still has to have his check.
Spot on Bobby. Hard work, focus on relationships, and being very very thorough should lead to top 10 classes every year at a place like Florida.
So you think the words “it’s EASY to recruit at UF” and “the school recruits itself” are the best words to describe the effort our staff is putting in on the trail? That’s how you’d show them love? I’m thinking the folks actually doing the work might disagree with ya. I think these words were meant to take a shot at some of our previous staffs, but in doing so, you completely gloss over all the work our current staff is doing right now. They deserve some credit and those words give them none.
Bullseye and they are paid very very well at a GREAT University with tons of positive things going for the school.
"I’m telling you what man,” Napier said. “The future is bright. We’ve got an unbelievable product to sell here. The history, the tradition. We’re in a top-five university that has an incredible alumni network. Our location and proximity to players. Gainesville, Florida is a special place and I do believe gameday in the Swamp is one of the most impactful things that we have to sell. We got a facility on the way and administration is committed to our infrastructure and we’ve got the pieces. We got to figure out this NIL puzzle and we’re in the process of working hard at that.
We do have a great product to sell. That doesn’t mean selling it is easy and the name on your shirt does it for you.
I don't want to misrepresent, but I think it's clear he wasn't selling the staff short. In my opinion using "easy" equates to "simple". It is not complicated to recruit well at UF, just put in the work. Doesn't mean it's not a lot of work, but it's pretty straightforward.
not even sure why this needs to be explained lol. I clearly said the school etc sells itself IF you put the effort in.
NOW you tell us?!?!? I just assumed he was a huge Eric B. and Rakim fan that enjoyed Gator recruiting. I didn't realize he was a 6 time World Champion Awesome Recruiting Debater. I f-ing new I should have poured a double.
I’ll soon have a third kid in the military. Army, Airfoce, and in a few weeks Marines bootcamp. He’s a fitness kid so he will be fine but he’s already talking shit to his older brothers.
I know the results weren’t great last year and probably won’t be this year. Maybe they aren’t up there with the Bama’s and UGA’s yet, but the effort is noticeably different. I’m thankful.
The work that's going on and the progress being made is impressive. I believe it absolutely will show up on the field.
At least we had one and we kicked people out for not meeting weight standards. Not sure about the Navy though.
I like what Billy said in his Gator Club tour…we will be successful, it’s just gonna take some time. There’s no question about it and we are seeing the early results now. It’s gonna be scary once we get this thing rolling. I don’t see how we aren’t keeping the premier talent in state and at the premier program in Florida moving forward.
