Since you can't win an argument and all you can do is name call you are right it is probably time to end this exchange. You have a good night as well and trust me I understand you completely.

Tried to end Title 42, a Trump COVID-related policy that is making the situation down there far worse. Trump "judges" blocked it and required him to keep enforcing Trump's terrible policy. There's your answer (to a question you didn't ask of me until just now).

That's, of course, far from the only thing Biden's people have done. They're working with Central America to address the root causes of migration. They've worked with Mexico's government to strengthen the border. But I imagine you aren't aware of those things (because you know basically nothing about our immigration policies and system).

Says the guy who won't say whether the border was secure or not under Trump.

So were the borders secure during the massive surge in migrants in 2019 or not? You still seemingly refuse to answer that basic question.

And here is the deflection again. We spend billions on the border, it is continuously ineffective, and your solution is what? Since, you know, you claim to have solutions. My solution? Stop wasting money.

BTW, green energy has important benefits to the country, unlike immigration controls. Lowering pollution and decreasing dependence on a global market controlled by a monopolistic power are both advantages. But it should be noted this is another of your deflections.

Lol, what? Are you really trying to pretend that our coal is the cleanest energy in the world?

Again, says the guy that can't even answer basic questions. But then again, asking you to conduct critical thinking about your own ideas seems a bridge too far, as you would rather just claim anybody probing your ideas at all to be "brainwashed."

BTW, yes, my life is better right now than it was in 2019.

This. All of it. My life is also better than 2019 too, for what it's worth.

This is your funniest post yet. Are you talking about our border Czar trying to figure out root causes. She won't even go to the border to see for herself what's going on there. When she was asked if she had been to the border she flat out lied and said she had been. When the reporter pressed her and she got called out for not going to the border her answer was "well I haven't been to Europe either". You liberals never have any answers. You just criticize the other side for their policies. You just spewed some of the most ridiculous rhetoric yet in an attempt to act like you know a damn thing. When Trump got with the President of Mexico and put in place the stay in Mexico policy the caravans were greatly reduced. As soon as Biden got into office the first thing he did was to do away with stay in Mexico and the caravans started up bigger than ever. Whenever they interviewed a migrant in a caravan why they were coming to America their answer was "Biden invited us". You wanted the Trump policies to have instant impact when he was trying fix decades of bad policy. If your job was to do away with Title 42 than you were doing more harm than good. It is ok to lock down our own people and fire Government employees for not getting vaccinated but heaven forbid try and make sure we don't allow Covid infected immigrants to just freely walk in. Again I ask you if you don't believe in border enforcement why would you take a Government job to try and enforce our laws unless your job was to reinforce Biden's bad policies. You sir are a credit to your party.

Would be working a lot better if Biden wasn't required to enforce Trump's failing policies.

    1. We know the root causes.
    2. She went to the border, not that it actually matters.
Kamala Harris visits US border amid migrant crisis
    3. Trump "judges" didn't allow Biden to do away with Remain in Mexico. It was still being enforced until two months ago (August 2022) after SCOTUS reversed the lower courts.

You continue to be very confidently wrong.

P.S. Title 42 is a disastrous policy that has nothing to do with protecting public health and has only worsened conditions at our border:

I believe that we need to know who and what is coming into the country. The best way to do that is increase our border security using technological innovation, beef up our ports of entry, and focus our resources efficiently.

I also believe our system is deeply broken, and we need to pass immigration reform to incentivize people to come to the country "the right way." As things stand now, there's no incentive to do that because we don't have a system designed to match labor demand and supply.

Further, I recognize that migration is driven more by external factors than internal factors. Due to that, if we're going to address issues with migration, we need to focus on the root causes. Without addressing those issues, we're peeing into the wind.

I'm sorry that my approach to immigration and border policy is nuanced, instead of the simplistic demagoguery you eat up. That's a lie, actually. I'm not remotely sorry.

Hey Gator_ Lawyer- I have found out a few things about you tonight. You twist facts to meet your narrative. That was extra rich saying Kamala was at the border. Yes she went to El Paso for a couple of hours for a photo op and would not take questions and got out of there as fast as she could. The second thing I learned is that you are fully in on drinking the liberal Kool Aid. If you were in Jonestown you would be dead by now. Third you like most liberals always try to claim the high ground of knowledge when you are always quoting partisan liberal media sources as fact. These are the same sources that won Pulitzers for writing false stories about Russian Collusion. I bet you still think the Russia Hoax is real. You think you are the smartest guy in the room when in fact you are not. No I am not going to use your own tactic against you and call you a name. I will agree with one thing you said and that is our system is broken. Gee who is the great unifier that is now in charge of fixing things for our country. He rather stand in front of a Red Wall with military guard at his side and call half the country Racists, Fascists and Deplorables whose opinions don't matter. Oh wait that sounds a lot like you. Had you only tried to make your points in a respectful way maybe we could have had a constructive debate but instead you turned into what your side always turns into, a nasty name caller. I know your moniker makes claim you are a lawyer which probably makes you think you are the smart guy but you really aren't. You do not have the capacity to listen to common sense if it doesn't fit your narrative. I assume you never made an argument in court because you don't come across very convincing just pompous.

Not at all. My wife got a job in 2020 with a significant raise. And I got a large raise last year when I threatened to leave. As a family, we're making over 50% more in income today than 2019. Doing much, much better.

I'm also happy Trump is out of office. But his form of Fascism is still very dangerous.

As for the border, you refuse to see the actual facts. Instead, you spew only hyperbole. Do you have any proof human trafficking is up? Or acknowledge the fact that total apprehensions today are actually lower than the mid 1980s? Or the early 2000s?

What's going on at the border is no different today than decades ago. We have a demand for immigrant labor. Countries to our south have supply because of poor conditions. Just like the conditions that existed in the 1940s through 1964, when the Bracero Program brought millions of immigrants into this country to work legally.

Since the end of the program, we've spent billions on border security. And what have we accomplished? 11 million undocumented currently living here, and thousands more coming in daily.

The answer is simple. We can't stop the flow. There is no pull to come here. It's a push from poor countries that cause desperate people to come to this country. But we can certainly better control the flow with a guest worker program. Allow supply of labor to meet demand legally.

Or, we can keep spending billions on trying to stop immigration and accomplishing nothing. It's insanity doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

So you are the 1% whose life is better. Congratulations. Yeah let them all in as long as there is someone to pick your crops for you. As far as the Fentanyl, Criminals and Terrorists are concerned well I guess you figure that's the price you have to pay to make sure there are enough oranges for you at the produce department. You don't really care about them at all. If you did you would have been happy for the ones that got to go to Martha's Vineyard and get a chance for a better life in a sanctuary city. instead you criticize the Governor that tried to offer them a better life like mowing Obama's grass so he doesn't have to pay an extra buck to the local kid. If you can't figure out an answer for a problem you just say heck with it. it can't be fixed. You and your ilk should just get out of the way and let other people with better ideas take over.

Again, 90% of drugs enter on commercial trucks at legal ports of entry. Immigrants, but legal and undocumented, commit less felony crime than citizens. And terrorists? When was the last terrorist attack committed by undocumented immigrants who entered illegally through our Southern border? Here's a hint. It's never happened. In fact, only 2 people who entered illegally have ever been arrested on terrorism charges, and they entered as kids and became radicalized as adults.

And the border can't be fixed using the same, tired, ineffective measures we've tried for decades. Again, insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. We've been trying to "secure" the border for years. And as the Libertarian CATO Institute said in another link you didn't read, nothing Trump did worked to stop undocumented immigration.

Your ideas are insane. It's throwing more money at a problem using methods proven not to work. All you'll accomplish is growing government worker totals and government budgets.

Meanwhile, your ideas do nothing to address our immigrant labor needs. Another fact you choose to neglect. Again, 8 million plus undocumented in our workforce, at a time where there is 1.6 open jobs for everyone on unemployment. What genius plan is it to spend $10k to deport an immigrant and open up a job position that won't be filled? And you say your idea is better?

Trump's immigration policies cost us about 2 million legal immigrants that could've been in our workforce at a time when we were suffering labor shortages. It's estimated Title 42 kept 1 million or more undocumented workers south of the border. Not the answer for all our labor shortage woes, but certainly it would've helped.

Last, I care about this country. And labor shortages not only cause inflation, immigrant labor shortages cause hundreds of millions in lost revenue in agriculture alone. I would think we'd all prefer to see higher GDP and more stable prices. Wouldn't we all benefit? If the immigrants benefit too by escaping violence and carving out a life here, that's win-win.

Or, we could not help the immigrants, spend billions on failed attempts to secure the border, and cause labor shortages that cause inflation and reduce profits.
