if DT was anybody else he would have been in prison years ago just on the document theft alone let alone the attempted insurrection

when he first announced back when it was my belief he would never run because his business has so many illegal activities (money laundering, tax evasion) going on that the light would be shined on.

 

Didn't he already resolve these tax issues? Or are these new charges?

 

he paid the amounts calculated but no criminal charges were ever brought for the acts committed to avoid the taxes. I can only assume that his agreement to pay did not shield him from prosecution. poor lawyering there if my assumption is correct?

 

My hope is Biden chooses not to run for re-election and the pardons his son.

 

You're probably right if Trump weren't running for president he wouldn't have 91 indictments considering the both the indictments and his decision to run for the presidency again are directly related to his inability to accept defeat. He wouldn't have had the indictments if accepted his loss in the 2020 election and conceded, would not have tried to orchestrate a false elector scheme, would not have instigated the January 6th attack on the Capitol and would have returned the classified documents when requested rather than lying about the disposition of the documents including ordering his employees to conceal them at Mar-a-Lago. If he behaved like every other defeated incumbent president he would not have had any of the indictments. I would agree that one of the cases against him, Alvin Bragg's indictment for violating election laws and filing false statements with respect to payments to Stormy Daniels was somewhat of a political stunt. As far as every one of the other indictments against him are concerned Trump has only himself to blame.

 

I've got a question. Why don't they just find Hunter guilty without a trial? That's what they did with Trump. He was found guilty of fraud by a judge with no trial. The present trial is just to decide the amount of damages to pay. While I have no sympathy for Trump about anything, I didn't know until this case that you can be found guilty of something in this country without a trial. It was a new one on me.

 

He refused to respond. So the judge issued a summary judgement. It’s unusual but it does happen. People typically respond when told to.

 

That case against Trump is not a criminal case.

Of course, the OP doesn’t mention the various charges that were slow played by the DOJ and thereby expired due to statute of limitations. If that’s “going after” someone I’m challenging the competency of the attorneys.

Are you seriously stating that nothing for which Trump has been indicted is justified, and that you would not have wanted Obama or Biden indicted for the same conduct? If you say "yes, I'm stating that", then you have lost what little remaining credibility you had with me. As it stands, this has got to be the BS Post of the Year, and it's almost over.

PS. There aren't many on here making excuses for Hunter before we've even heard the evidence, which is the difference between open and closed minded partisans.
