I think we end up fine.

 

Looks like the day is done and we will finish at 19, unless there is a late addition. It's about what was expected for this transition class.

 

Well we got the portal still. It ain’t over til it’s over…until the fat lady shows up before fall classes.

 

22 is over on july1. bordingham has yet to make a decision to boot.

 

Now the fun part -- actual football.

I think our most valuable/important recruit is/was O'cyrus Torrence followed by Jack Miller.

Wilson is the only high school recruit who looks like his body is college-ready. We'll see him on ST this year. The others ... who knows.

I'm ready for some spring ball.

 

Assuming I am reading 247 right, Vandy would have the 5th best ACC class and they finished 14th in the SEC.

 

I don't see the Miller optimism but I hope you're correct.

This morning, I went back and dug up a post from 12/15/21 from a thread discussing the attrition we were experiencing and my thoughts on our prospects and needs for the '22 class. Here are a few excerpts:

"I don't personally expect a top20 freshman class. But you never know with kids - and I guess it could conceivably happen. What I'm actually hoping for is a significant "rebound" that includes 12-15 real SEC prospects that have the talent, grades and attitude required to form the nucleus of an actual contender... augmented by 5-8 solid SEC-ready, plug-n-play types at numerous positions..."

"DM didn't just "blow it" as HC. IMO, he left us severely wounded and much diminished - and none of that is CBN's fault. However, it is definitely CBN's mess to clean up. Admittedly, it won't be easy, and it won't be immediate. But it's still better than the only known alternative - continuing with a failed HC... "

"If we've ever needed a plain-spoken, FB obsessed workaholic with both principles and process, it is now and CBN seems to be the man..."

Although we came tantalizingly close to exceeding my wildest "expectations," I'm feeling good this morning about where things stand right now. In fact, if we pick up another freshman commit here or there, along with a couple more solid "plug-ins" from the portal, we'll finish in the upper ranges of where I hoped we could be. CBN and his staff have done yeoman's work thus far and deserve our patience and respect for what they have already achieved. Go Gators!

You are right for sure they blew it, just like i said in another post who in this site would trust again the CBs or people who claim that they have inside information.

 

This is pretty embarrassing, but I wonder if, media bubbles being what they are, there's no real incentive for team-oriented sites to be anything other than totally homeristic with their "predictions." Theoretically getting this so spectacularly wrong should damage their credibility, but there's such an insatiable appetite for happy talk that I think most people will just forget about the wrongness this time and eat it up the next time they're served it.

I can go out there and say "Florida's going to sign Players A, B, C and D tomorrow" and Gator fans will be incredibly excited. And when UF doesn't sign any of those guys, I can just say, "Oh, what I said was accurate when I said it, things just changed at the last minute," and next Signing Day Gator fans will still be incredibly excited when I say "Florida's going to sign Players A, B, C and D tomorrow."

 

Would be funny if they posted the same prediction on several sites knowing that they were all in play with a number of schools.
